That town is called "Chicago".
Try using both Irradiate and Defensive Matrix on an Overlord. It looks pretty neat.

Don't blame if you alredy know it but here is it the RIGHT way of making potato.

Take your cooker and fill it with water;
Wait until water boils;
Put salt in the water as much as needed;
Wait until water boils;
put potato;
wait the time written in the box. However you want to check it time by time to make sure patato arrives to the right cooking time.
Drain the cooker.
Add butter.

isnt potato more european/german than american?

No, potato is from south america, peru actually. It can be genetic proved as fact.

Thanks for nothing.

Anyone that cooks noodles by putting the noodles into the water before the water is boiling needs to seriously learn basic cooking. That's like one of the biggest noob moves you can do with food.

I once saw a container of chocolate sauce that said "Chef's tip: Goes great on ice creme as well!"

It was funny. But this blog just makes me angry. You didn't mention any important subtleties to cooking pasta, and you probably don't know any either. I beg you to turn in your citizenship to the proper authorities.

What method do you guys use to make sure that the pasta doesn't stick to itself and clump up? I've heard that running the pasta in cold water after works, as well as drizzling with a little olive oil.

has anyone else noticed that the box instructions almost always say to cook the pasta longer than is actually al dente?

i almost always cook the pasta about 20% shorter than specified; texture is much better.

Yeah in Sweden too. We eat potatoes for everything! Potatoes saved Sweden during a "hungerneed" (or whatever the name is lol, didn't show up in my online lexicon) I think around the 1800? Or maybe earlier. Since it can grow everywhere even in Swedens sometimes harsch climate.

and adding salt is MAJOR no-no.. do you know how much sodium is already in most pasta sauces as it is?? More salt is overboard.

Do you know how many calories are in fries? Why do you eat it with a burger and a soda? Because it tastes better.

Pasta without salt taste bland and disgusting.

I try not to eat fries or burgers.. and esp dont drink Soda.

My point is, pasta sauce already has like, what, 600 mg of sodium per cup?? why would you add another huge chunk of salt to the water itself?? thats going more overboard than it already is (theres loads of salt in it already)
Only if you buy pre-made sauces. When I make pasta sauce I generally try to add in as little salt as possible so I can judge how much I need at the very end.

Also, I think I'm the only one I know who actually cooks the pasta for the length of time written on the box/package. Everyone I know seems to prefer their pasta over cooked =/
