The reason sc1 became a game of economy and how to get away with as much economy as you can without dying was because of ramp advantage and worker priority. You knew your workers could be used to defend and the backside of that was that you weren't mining with them, not that they died instantly. | ||

Balance-wise of course it needs a ton of work. The fact that zerg mines faster with 15 drones than protoss does with 24 probes combined with their insanely potent macro mechanic combined with the fact that zerglings are faster than workers even without speed and not on creep so that it is literally impossible to scout until you have air units makes Zerg such a joke. | ||

In SCI the probes mine faster than drones which mine faster than SCVs. | ||
