Is "none" --> "doesn´t merrit a mod action" and does it include if for example several posts of one user got reported and one of the first reports lead to a ban? Is "closed" --> he reported a thread to be closed or does it mean the report got closed because of the point above? Edit: a I think monk answered that already in a way, I should refresh before posting. | ||

It seems that I have gotten a lot of "none" from this. What is the point where you take away the report button? Is it a certain percentage or just a gut-reaction if the reports are annoying? | ||

I don't have the overall stats on me, but they could be brought up if we needed them. There's probably in excess of 15k reports submitted since the report feature was introduced. No formal ranking of best/worst reporters but a good guide for users with more than 50 reports (imo) is 0-20% none - godlike reporter (probably a mod by now) 20-30% none - good reporter 30-40% none - average reporter 40%+ - =/ | ||

After feeling that I did more and more bad reports (and wasted too much time for both me and mods) I have asked to remove my button. The mod said he "hadn't noticed a really high incidence of bad reports" so that doesn´t sound that good either. | ||

I originally meant this to be a PM response to Plexa since he PM’ed me about a recent false report I made but since this thread was opened I decided to expand it a little and post it here so others can chip into it as well. I value my report button a lot and make a lot of report as well, here’s my stats from when I got my button 5th of June this year up to a few days ago. Thanks for helping to make my job easier  However the report stats are actually flawed a lot in my opinion because the categorizing is so lacking, specifically there should be at least one more category about reports Other or something similar. I think I have well over a hundred reports in the strategy forum alone about faulty thread titles and some on other forums as well, e.g. all caps titles or titles containing spoilers I have reported which then count into the none part bringing my “bad report %” up by a lot. Another thing that I believe has in the past few months after summer added into my none amount is the fact that some posts which should always result in at least a warning no longer seem to do so. When I got my report button in the summer GMarshal was doing almost all the report handling. About 8-12 hours of the day you could make a report and it wouldn’t usually take more than a few minutes for him to handle it even if it was a busy moving LR day. It got up to the point where I adjusted my report reasons about bad threads so that GM could just copy-paste the report into his thread closing post. Back then +1, this, or inb4 posts would always result into at least a warning but this seems to no longer be the case. Since September I’ve reported many inb4 and such posts and only a handful has actually gotten the red text underneath, this is especially true in LR threads currently. Here’s just one inb4 post from the 28th which I reported but didn’t get any action visible done to it: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewpost.php?post_id=17040150 A quote from 10 commandments regarding such posts should make it pretty clear: Finally, do not post for the sake of posting. While it is sometimes acceptable to support another person's view point, doing so by adding "+1", or quoting while adding nothing at all, is not an appropriate post. Another thing which was already covered by micronesia in this thread was moving threads, once again something I have reported a bunch of times, most often it’s something that is posted into (SC2)General and should be a blog and I report it as such and it gets moved there. Rarely do these threads get actually closed and told to be reposted as a blog which I guess would be the proper mod action as far as the report stats are concerned. Third thing I’ve noticed rarely getting any moderation action is back seat moderating, I used to report it a bit but lately stopped reporting it almost entirely because only a few times it has resulted into something other than no moderation action taken. So to summarize, stuff that does indeed break forum rules or is not a false report but often leads into the report being labeled as ‘none’: -Reporting a thread for its title which results in the title being changed With those points in mind I think there is a strong argument for implementing a more specified report categorizing if the categories are indeed to be used as a means to deciding who gets their report button taken away. I would argue I’m at least close to 20% on the none part if these things are taken into account. If no change in the report categorizing is deemed necessary I guess the only course of action is to stop reporting certain offences with the report function and instead PM a staff member about said things. | ||

I have a suspicion that my stats wont be very good. I often find myself reporting posts with more subtle badness. I take more offense of comments I feel that the person might get away with. I'm like an avenger of sorts. Most of the obvious ones are reported before i get to them! | ||

Although, if you intend to revamp the system, I'd like the idea of including these stats for each user to look at. It promotes users to be active with reporting, and you can remove the function from a person who abuses it. (I did miss the last 15 pages so idk if this was suggested already) On Dota, if you report someone and he gets punished for it(ie. put on Low-MM pool), you receive a notification. Makes me feel good when I report someone for being an asshole and 2 hours later I receive the notification informing me that the asshole got what he deserves. | ||

We usually only take the report button away when somebody is absolutely clueless and is basically abusing the feature. You should obviously still try to improve your reporting (60%+ non action is a little bit high), but you shouldn't be afraid to report because you think we want to take your button away. | ||

It's not really a big deal, it would just be prettier without the big drop that can happen in the last section if that's the case. Would also be nice to know exactly how many reports you have. Shame you cannot see exactly what happened to each report, that would be cool, but I understand it would be quite a bit more complicated. Edit: Actually, I just realized the last section simply uses the last 25 reports, which means it double dips on the previous section. But for some reason I guess it doesn't take into account the reports already accounted for in the 75-100 section, in my case? | ||

I reported this OP because it was somewhat uninformed and was eventually going to devolve into arguments. Now, I'm not entirely sure whether it was non-actioned or if it was "other" with the mod note. Can I have clarification on it? | ||
