realistically the answer would be no... late notice for work, gonna cost at least 1800-2200 return... the chance that the bar might fill up and i wonte ven be able to get inside.... but im pretty darn tempted... i mean its NY, geeks, nerds, sc2 stuff, drinking, NY...
why didn't i plan ahead -_-
I feel the same! Arghh need!

Unfortunately they can't make any more exceptions, so under 21 year olds you're out of luck. I understand why bars put an age limit but do you have to be 21 to drink in bars in the US generally or is it up to the bar? Though Thorzain doesn't really look like a heavy drinker to me anyway. You have to be 21 to drink anywhere no exceptions, even at home. At bars that are not combined with a restaurant area you generally can't even go in if you are under 21, even if you weren't going to drink.

Ah ok thanks, I've always thought it was lower than that in the US for some reason. Even at home seems like a bit weird. You mean it's stricly speaking illegal to give an 18 year old friend a low alcoholic beer at home? (I understand it's probably not enforced but still)

What?! R1CH is taking time off of Wizarding?! But who will fend off the Death Eaters? I sure hope you know what your doing! o.o'
Dang too bad im 20, and very far from NY

I feel sorry for Thorzain. Especially if he wins, he won't even be able to celebrate due to silly laws here in the states.

Wish I could go, seeing as I'm old enough too.

yes it is illegal and yes it is very enforced. People in my town have been arrested for serving their children alcohol even just from an anonymous report. Some people down my street were aressted a few years ago because they let their 19 year old daughter drink at a barbecue, and their neighbors saw it from their back yard. The mother was a nurse at the high school and lost her job over the incident.

This seems like overreacting to me ...

Ok thanks. That's a little harsher than I would have anticipated.

most states have a drinking age of 21 (hence need to be 21 to enter the bar)
I believe there are some that are 20 or 19 or something though.
<3 Canada 19 and 18 :D

This story doesn't represent the entire United States. I'd move away from where you live if that's the case ^_^
Underage drinking is quite common as far as I'm aware. Especially if you're at the University age.
