So logged in today to play some games and I was met with the same problem I have been having.
After working my way up to the top of my bronze league, I have been playing with silver players, and am hoping to get promoted soon. The problem is, I can beat all the races except terran.
I just played two games today, two losses against two terran in a row. I seem to lose to either banshees, or siege tanks that just rape my army (I play Zerg).
I am really desperate to learn how to beat Terran, because as of right now I feel it will hold me back from getting promoted into silver, and I am REALLY close.
Thanks everyone

Watch some replays/vods of higher level zergs. Banshees are pretty easy. Queens+Evo chamber if it's cloak. or Overseer+queens.
As for tanks, tank lines are trick to break and you usually need something like a lot of lings/banelings/mutas. But you can do it with roaches too, I guess it depends on the situation.
My best advice would be to check out some higher level zerg vods, maybe check out Sheths stream or IdrA's. Sheth tends to talk much more about what is going on so that seems like something that would help you out.

Download a good player's replay pack (Sheth's!), and study the ZvT games. Try to understand why he's doing what he's doing, and adapt your play to resemble his.

Sounds like you're not scouting at all, which you should. If you don't scout you won't know which units you should get to counter what. Sacrifice an overlord to see what Terran is building, which should give you enough time to react - that is if you scout when he's actually building his starport. If you know banshees are on their way, you'll need 2-3 queens to counter + overseer
Or, you could also try and sneak a drone into his base and hide it for as long as you can. Then use that drone to scout for factories/starports.
If you need help analyzing your replays and find your mistakes, feel free to pm me. I'm top gold, and I know that I"m definitely not the best zerg player out there (not even close), but I can help you analyze your replays and try coaching you.

If the Terran is going for a mech-centric playstyle (especially seige tanks) you need to abuse the immobility of the Terran army. Mutas are great for forceing one of two things: A retreat thus relinquishing of map control and abbandoning any contains or presence, or an all-in counter-attack (which if you are prepared for, can be a forced unfavourable engagement for them with things like flanks, burrowed banelings, etc.) at your home front. Remember well that as a Zerg you want to expand away from your opponent as much as possible. A Terran who plays a mech-centric style will often times favour expanding towards you to make it easier for him to fall back to protect his main and expansions. As for a Terran who opens banshees, with proper queen utilization you can easily deflect it. If you suspect cloaked banshees an evo chamber or overseer is all it takes (note your overseers will be completely safe from the banshees as they can obviously not shoot air units and thus are free to follow the cloaked banshees around and keep tabs on them).
Hope that was able to help!
