Publicity is one, the people who stream the game early creates an enormous amount of hype for the game, and get people excited.

I'm thinking about Trish/Ammy/Taskmaster with Taskmaster on point, seems like a huge pressure game. I'll have to check out whether Trish has any AA assists though.

They lowered the bar on execution. There are still a good deal of combo options where you get rewarded for using specifically timed options instead of doing the easy magic series. TvC players are going to feel right at home after a few hours of practice mode. In general those characters feel easier to play then their TvC incarnations because you have a shorter standing magic series. MvC players are salty because it isn't MvC2.1... I think a few players already ragequit. Still too early to say much about real balance, but the next month of tourney vids is going to look brutal

General consensus is if you want to just play the game casually or something you can get an SE for cheap or play on a controller. If you want to play competitively online and stuff, a TE is really good because of the quality and control you get after practicing with them. The price you pay is that a TE costs 100-150 dollars, whereas an SE is like 30-50 bucks depending where you get them. TE's are much higher quality though, which is why you'll want it if you play a lot because they won't wear out as fast.

Would you opt for the TE instead to avoid the hassle?

He'll play it, absolutely he'll play it, he was just salty at the time. Hate for this to be brought up here, but this idea is just wrong. People are playing SC2 for the following reasons: 1. more money in it 2. the new thing There was never any money in BW for foreigners. 0. It was for pride and glory. In other words, that's a terrible example. Players are always going to complain about any game being more user-friendly. There are very few games out there being developed that provide an extreme challenge for players.

Personally I'd just wait for a big major tournament (they happen like once a twice or month this time of year, as often as every weekend around mid summer til the end of the year) and madcatz always has promotion codes (follow @MarkMan23 on twitter) so you can get like 25% off or whatever, which means you can get a TE for 100 or less sometimes.

Unless you're just good at taking shit apart and putting stuff together then i mean by all means go for it. The stick is somewhat difficult to install, but the buttons are easy. The Hori EX-SE has a Sanwa stick and Hori buttons, so if you want the absolute cheapest 100% Sanwa experience, you can buy one of those and mod the buttons yourself. They're basically just plug-n-play. If you don't like the feel of the stick, you can also buy any number of springs to change it to be more Seimitsu-like. Modding a HRAP EX-SE is not *much* cheaper than buying a straight up MadCatz TE, but it does give you a lot more flexibility with how your stick looks. Also, I like the button layout a lot better on the Hori's.

And yeah, Cel.erity pretty much nailed it about fight sticks, in the end, save yourself the hassle and just buy one from madcatz though lol
