I do have a question though, when is your next tournament for SC2? As a high school student the entry fee of 40$ scared me off a little bit but I heard you guys had "Casual" tournaments how big is the prize pool in those tournaments?

As a high school student the entry fee of 40$ scared me off a little bit but I heard you guys had "Casual" tournaments how big is the prize pool in those tournaments? Generally for the casual cash tournaments it is $25 a ticket ($15 house, $10 prize pool - 60,30,10 split) however at the moment our main focus is for this upcoming StarCraft II tournament that has enough prizes that even the casual player can walk away with something. If you live in the calgary area I suggest signing up to our facebook, twitter & website to stay informed on future events. Although we haven't officially announced this yet but one of our global sponsors is coming on board and will be providing enough swag that everyone will be walking away with roughly $20-$30 just from them in addition to $1,100 in major hardware pieces. Raising the prize pool an additional $2,000 - $3,500ish. We are just waiting on official specs on the hardware and swag to announce it to the community.

There will be a large number of people watching the finals including members from the UofC-SC2 club. Bring some extra cash as it looks like the group will be ordering some pizza for the event!

To be honest, having $1,200 in cash and like $6,000 in random hardware is nowhere near as good. Its not something that will draw lots of top players, most good players in legit teams have the hardware already, so playing for more hardware is not really worth it. And its also incredibly time consuming /annoying to sell that stuff, I've won some hardware at LANs and it took forever to sell :p .. You should sell the hardware, then make the cash pot $7500 :p Then you'd get a lot of top players going ~~

Hey Cynical, Unlimited amount of people can register however we are only accepting the first 64 paid users to participate in the tournament. Tickets are available for purchase at SwitchBox and you can also purchase tickets from our website. Be sure to register in advance as you will be asked to do so at the door. Thanks.
