So from my last desperate blog I have since then found a place to live, which is very close to the campus and to a fairly large Target (so i can buy whatever bs stuff I need there).
Unfortunately a few things about the Winter Park / Orlando area that bother me are: 1) Where are all the buildings? Everything is so damn far away (compared to the concrete jungle, New York City) 2) The roads are awful when there is traffic. 90% of stores you can't make a left turn out of the parking lot and U-turns at intersections that don't have a traffic light are almost impossible. 3) The temperature is too damn high (see http://www.rentistoodamnhigh.org/ ) 4) I forgot you can't drink tap water. Although it doesn't taste good in New York, it won't kill you. 5) I went to 4 stores and couldn't find a 50 foot ethernet cable. Stores need to stock sizes longer than 25 ft =[
The good: 1) The drivers are pretty nice. You don't need to try to move over to the turn lane like 5 traffic lights before you actually need to turn. 2) My roommates are pretty awesome (they're not huge starcraft nerds but they show enough interest) 3) I filled out a questionaire for my school (Full Sail University) and it asked for my top 3 frequented websites, TL.net #1
Thanks for everyone that send me pms, that helped a bunch.
If anyone knows of any TL.net gatherings in the Orlando area let me know!
I gotta go now, back to school to take my math assessment test =.=

I'm jealous that you are going to full sail! I toured it a few years back and it was just fuckin amazing. I believe there is like a UCF weekly meetup, I live in Tampa but have never made it over.
About #2, my wife is a transportation engineer and complains all the time about the shitty road design. Personally, yeh the design sucks but at least the roads are drivable in comparison to where I'm from, Louisiana.

I'm about 5 miles away from Full Sail and I always have time off in between classes on Friday, PM me ^^
If you think Orlando water is bad, it only gets worse the further south you go (before Miami).

Well this is really just my view of Orlando as a New Yorker. I was born and raised in the same house for 21 years so this is a kinda big change for me.
Right now I'm building a desk for my computer to sit on and its a lot more painful than building computers and is taking a lot more time =.=

One thing I remember from Orlando is everyone speeds, and cops will mostly only pull you over for running red lights (traffic wise).
Also all the buildings are in downtown Orlando, which is pretty shitty unless you are going to clubs. Halloween night in Downtown Orlando if you wanna see awesome costumes.
