So in my quest to get diamond 2v2, and finally get diamond in all my leagues, I actually won a 1v2 (sort of, ally left after ~5 mins).
Rarely do I feel happy or excited after winning a game, but this was an exception.
tldr: I won a game and I'm happy.
EDIT- btw I'm not sure how resource sharing works, but apparently I can make SCVs out of his command center while spending my minerals, but I can't repair his command center because it uses his minerals instead of mine. BUG?!!?!?!?!

Winning a 1v2 in SC1 is more impressive, where you don't get control of your ally's resources, units, and buildings -.-;

yeah its actually really easy if your ally leaves early on because then you get all their resources, which pretty much means you win if you just do some crazy early timing attack using one player's tech (probably yours).

It can be, It's like starting a game with double economy and twice as many unit combos (at twice the cost of course). Of course there is the fact that you are only 2 hands and 1 brain while they are twice as many. So yea, it's probably best to do something fast, the longer the games the more your advantage becomes a disadvantage.

if your ally left after 5 minutes its not really a 1v2
i remember in wc3 winning 1v2 at low levels was actually easier at times than winning 2v2 lol

Probably was because you get control of your allys stuff, and speed isn't as important as strategy, and one head can execute plans way better than two.

I'd actually rather play a 1v2 with my ally leaving than having him stay in random 2v2. I imagine the random teammates aren't really worth having until mid-diamond or so, at least in my experience.

I don't think I've ever lost a 1v2 where my ally dc's/drops in the first 5 minutes.

I got my butt given to me on a silver platter 1v2, and I was on the 2 team. Lol.
We went in to kill this guy who went proxy reapers, he ended up BMing and then leaving, and as we're laughing at this guy spew out all this "fuck zerg" blah blah blah, I get the "Our drones are under attack!" and there's a buttfuckton of MM in my base.
He essentially killed me off, but I had a rather large number of ling/roaches left over...tried rebuilding my hatch/econ while my protoss partner (this is a silver 2v2 with a silver partner) fails at beating the terran 1.5v1
At least it was a silver/plat v diamond/bronze so I can at least pretend that diamond player was ridiculously good, but damn it was kind of embarassing when we had to GG. x.x

I had a 3v3 where both my allies disconnected in the first minute. One dced during loading and the other left a few seconds in the game cause "fuck this can't win 2v3". It's brilliant, it's like starting on 3base I can't believe how easily I crushed that game. 1v3 1v2 whatever seems to be a massive advantage as long as you macro the disconnects. I basicly built nothing but depots and scv's with the terran disconnect, probes pylons and cannons with the P disconnect. I was on 9 rax when I was on 30 supply :>

lol c'mon guys, the OP is happy, leave him be don't make his achievement any less than it is =]

For a long while, I'd get dropped about 1/4 of the time when I played with a friend of mine. I'd be dropped before the game began (issue with my router, now fixed).
He lost the first few, but has become fantastic at taking on two people at once. If ever I get dropped, I know he's got my back.

I won a 1v2 [TT vs PP (us)] where the Ts did a very early, very aggressive marine rush. My clanmate basically got wiped, and I finished it 2v1.
I won a 2v1 [P/Z vs T/P (us)] where the enemy Z D/Ced and the P kept him as a money cow. He had a sick sick eco advantage and did some crazy 6-7 gate timing push akin to 4-gate. Almost lost that one, but mara+stim and reaper raids saved the day for us.
