TL is still fun, its where we get our live streams.
but i would like to add; ever since the fanboy icons, people are treating the losing fanboys like tools after the match/series. The "QQ moar is" inevitable now, any body feel that way also? I am not offended just like to point that out.

I hear the OP ^^... I'm one of those who started lurking TL when Bisu > Savior happened... and didn't bother making an account until some time later. And although I don't always have time to post since most of what I could say has already been said by others by the time I read. I'm proud of being a TL lurker for so long. I have always found the community to be one of the most intelligente group of people and to be well guided / controlled if you will by its mods. Although I have noticed many small changes in the posters / quality of posts of some people  I believe the change has not been that bad at all. And by all means the mods are doing an awesome job by keeping TL in shape.
After having the opportunity to play the beta I must say I don't like it that much myself (and although I loved SC:BW the minute I got to play it back in 1998...) I'll keep lurking TL out of nostalgia and that constant search for other intelligent people with whom i share so much.
Even when talking to my gf... "I'm reading some discussion on Critical Thinking and Skepticism" or whatever other interesting issues arise. Her usual response is: "TL would..." No other computer game dedicated forum has such high average quality of posters.
Long Live TL

Day after day, love turns grey like the skin of a dying man And night after night, we pretend it's all right but i have grown older, and you have grown colder and nothing is very much fun anymore
And I can feel one of my turns coming on. I feel cold as a razor blade tight as a tourniquet Dry as a funeral drum...
run to the bedroom, on the suitcase to the left you'll find my favourite axe Dont look so frightened this is just a passing phase, one of my bad days Do you like to watch TV? or get between the sheets? Or contemplate the silent freeway? would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly? Would you like to see me try?
Would you like to call the cops? Do you think is time I stop?
why are you running away?

And I remember arguing with you all the time back when I joined like a month or two later. I would love to know what number I am as well, although I would assume hot_bid doesn't love me as much and will ignore this lol .

I don't even play the beta and for the last year give or take I haven't really followed the pro-scene either, but I still come to TL because there are a ton of other things going on. So many different users talking about so many different things. SC:BW and SC2 could both die out and I doubt this forum would go anywhere.

I think most of the SC2 members (people who joined for SC2) don't quite get that this is a StarCraft eSports website, not a SC2 discussion forum.

Did anyone else think that the gambling progamers of scbw conspiracy was a well timed and executed plan to to grab all the disgruntled scbw fans and redirect them towards sc2.
Like wow, it was really perfect timing. I really wouldn't be surprised if someone connected to blizzard or with stake in some sc2 planned sponsors was related with the whole thing.

I was probably one of the more optimistic ones here on the site when the game was first announced (there were alot of haters). But, i don't know. Now I just find it... meh. I guess the game is decent. Might even be a good game by today's standards. But simply good is not enough to keep me interested. It feels boring after just a couple of hundred games (not a good sign). In BW, whenever i lost, I could feel how lacking and how inferior I was. When an idiot beat me, I knew I had screwed up incredibly. I knew I could be faster, quicker, better and overcome it all. There was always room to improve. If there was a ceiling, I had never seen that ceiling because it was so high. In SC2. I'm one of these fucking idiots who beats great and legendary players all the time. And I don't even feel like I'm doing anything special. I don't feel deserving at all. Whether I win or lose, it's the same feeling. Win? Might just as well been a loss. Loss? Might just as well been a win. While it's stupid to claim there's no room to improve, I still feel like somehow the ceiling is in sight. Like even if I put on the best fucking performance of my life, I could still lose. With how the game currently plays out, there's not enough difference between a perfect player and a flawed one. + Show Spoiler +Yeah a load of sentimental bullcrap I know. Completely agree with this. This is the #1 problem in SC2 at the moment, the skill barrier... It is far too close. I mean look at "top" players like lucifron, 50-60 apm -.0 psh..

Yeah I agree, I have no real interest in attaining a beta key even though I'm sure I could've by now. SC2 just doesn't look very appealing to me.
As with TL, I haven't been here THAT long, but definitely longer then the sudden influx of new people. If I had to choose between now and around the time I joined I would definitely go with back then.

i was gonna post something but then i decided there's no point so im just gonna go play some SC2

I've been lurking around since SC2 was announced back in 2007. Starcraft or no Starcraft, TL is one of the better communities I've found on the internet. I appreciate how the mods work hard to keep the atmosphere respectful, but honest. It's really a wonderful thing.
I think its fun to see the influx of new users, but maybe because I'm kinda one of them. I know the mods have to work harder right now, but most of the jokers will be gone after a year or two. I don't see anything wrong with new blood if people are generally cool. After all, more attention to SC means bigger tournament audiences and bigger sponsorships. You aren't going to get that legitimate foreign e-sports scene everyone has been dreaming about without lots and lots of new people around to support it.
As for SC2 being boring, clearly it just takes time for people to get comfortable with the new mechanics. There is soo much potential for creative play, but you can't expect it to all be explored or discovered right away, before the game is even released. I just watched the Machine vs. Inka game (HelloGooBye Semis) where Inka forced Machine into submission with a couple of void rays and a handful of DTs, and it was pretty exciting. And don't forget that we've still got two expansions coming that will probably add some new units and allow for more creativity for each of the races. Each time you add something new into the mix, it increases creative options exponentially.
SC2 will undoubtedly grow into its rightful position on the throne of RTS gaming soon enough. Everyone is critical of the game right now, since it is still technically in development, but it ultimately wasn't Blizzard, but the players that made BW the amazing game that it was. Likewise it isn't up to Blizzard, but the players to evolve Starcraft 2 into something we can all look back on ten years from now and wish we could go back to.

Lmao, you didn't expect the TL staff to stay loyal to a 12 year old game forever, did you?
