explain O_O ??

I think he means with the ping difference the American players would theoretically have an advantage with less lag and latency.

how is it possible for one person to have lag and one not? if the game is laggy, it's laggy for both players. and apparently there were no problems in the EG vs Liquid CW in which Euro guys played on the US server.

It's a theory that's been around since the dawn of RTS online that the player closer to the servers will get some sort of an advantage in unit reaction time. It doesn't work like that in SC2 but people will say it anyway. Thats why I said theoretically.

Xeris, unlike starcraft which was peer to peer , Starcraft 2 is server based that means you have a bigger delay as european player when you play on an US server than the US player. How do you know that there was no problems in EG vs Liquid? As far as I know they all had a pretty strong delay and were just manly enough to not complain about it. (There is the possibility that the US server sucks just in general and has a way higher latency than europe as well though, however as both Idra and Artosis complained about high latency after losing in european tournaments, its pretty unlikely)

because Louder is sitting right next to me and he said there weren't any problems or complaints in the match ... and White-Ra ladders on the US server and has no problems whatsoever O_O

My brother tells the truth. Its like very high latency on iccup. But that it only applies to the one foreign to the gateway makes it even worse than having to play on very high.

This should be an awesome match.
Good to see GosuCoaching staying on top of things and doing lot of stuff.

hmm I'ma make this point ina kinder fashion.
It's a sm for 150$ that we are inviting people to.
Sorry if the lag is bad for one more than the other. If that is too much they can decline the invite. But let's not start complaining in regard to a fun sm the connects the two servers.

someone on the EU server can start hosting tourneys that invites americans specifically.. how about that? That'll show those american scum bags!

Yea I agree Incontrol. You would have that "home advantage" then like in other sports.^^
But I think for upcoming events which are bo3 or b5 it would be really nice if player just play 1 (or 2) maps on the on server and 2 (or 3) maps on the other. Do you guys actually experience the same latency on our server? Or are US servers just bad?

gogo assem, love the nickname.

instead of american I would like to see north-american

This is going to be awesome, looking forward to it!

It does include this. And people from South America and Oceania play on this server too so North American doesn't really encompass all the players either.

looking forward to this, gogo White-Ra

TLO, For people in NA playing on the NA server there is no lag. I dont' perticularly think our server is "bad" in general. For lag issues we have several people on our team who play in both Europe and NA servers and they havn't said they have any problems. From playing with high latency in the past (had really slow internet, now I upgraded) I didn't think I had a disadvantage for having a slower computer. Whenever I had this high latency the screen would say "Sheth is slowing the game" it woudln't just give the other guy more time. I could be wrong, but I think I'm right ;P

That screen that shows up saying "Sheth is slowing down the game" is a bug it shows on every player's screen that they are the one slowing down the game, but theres no host advantage in SC2 whenever I see one player complaining about delay I see the other one agreeing so if playing from EU causes delay it's giving the NA player delay as well so then they're on even ground.
