Don't watch unless you've seen the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and preferably Zeta Gundam as well. Double Zeta sucks but I guess you can watch that too.
Mobile Suit Gundam : Char's Counterattack - Movie (124 Minutes)
A Gundam movie taking place after Double Zeta, revolving once more around Char and Amuro.
This movie is amazing. I came into this with high hopes after the failure of Double Zeta and was not disappointed whatsoever. This movie delivers with phenomenal animation, great sound, and one of the most perfect Gundam experiences I've witnessed.
The characters were good. A favorable mix of old and new, great lead characters of Char and Amuro, even better this time around than they were previously. I felt as though the newly introduced characters were kinda shoved in and out really quick when compared to the highly developed Amuro and Char, and even Bright but because it's a movie I can overlook it.
The plot, simple but engaging, what I like to see in movies like this. The ending was not as good as I had hoped, but it was still decent enough for me not to be disappointed.
The battles themselves were quite enjoyable. A step up from the action in the series, the battles were fast paced and filled with gorgeous explosions. I especially enjoyed the Nu Gundam model. I like this one much better than the Zeta and Double Zeta.
[8/10] - Overall this is one of the better movies I've seen, and a great addition to the Gundam franchise. It's well worth watching all the Gundams up to this movie, besides possibly Double Zeta.
Probably going for Paranoia Agent next.
