/brag thread.
Shake has now upgraded to i7.
New Parts: MSI X58 Platinum SLI Motherboard Intel Core i7 920 3 x 2 GB OCZ Gold DDR3-1333 Corsair 750w PSU
Old Parts: STILL USING THESE TOO, NOT REPLACING EVGA 9600GT 2 x 400GB WD Caviar HDs in Raid0 1TB Hitachi Deskstar HD
Very satisfied with the performance, a big upgrade from that AMD dual core I was using previously. Hopefully when I get more money I'll upgrade to a 4870 and buy some SSDs.

I've never actually noticed any increased performance when I changed processors (unless it's like a decade old..) it's all about the ram/video card.

whats your Graphics card? I have no use for more than 6gigs of ram, no one should really unless they're running virtual machines or do a lot of encoding.
Graphics card was stated, 9600gt

you should go for a new card.

it depends on what you are playing, some games are more CPU - bound than GPU bound. But yeah not alot of games use CPU that much...

does anyone know where to find details about AMD 720 and the trick to enable the fourth core by BIOs? LOL? AMD was so pissed off about that.

it's a great card, especially since i got it for a cheap price and it was a huge upgrade from a 7300LE

But how will you render Farcry 2 better than you are supposed to with current hardware specs?
|
Bahahahhahaa.
It's funny because you just use it to play starcraft.

Quite the PSU overkill, at last atm :p
Also I don't see the point in RAID-0, really. That's like begging to lose your data.

I use the raid 0 drives for basically just programs and the os, I have everything else backed up anyway, and have yet to have a drive fail on me.
