I like it better than a lot of other mice. oh, i'm sorry. it's not actually "imprecise" as benchmarks would say--when it's already overkill for starcraft--it's just kinda the runt of the dpi litter (as bad as it is to say, i can't think of a better analogy). it's reliable, effin' sexy (smooth, slick black) and inexpensive.

The shape is almost the same but the G5 has a higher DPI. the DPI dosen't really matter, and the MX518 is a little smaller in the hand (I'm not sure about the actual size though). It all comes down to feel, and since most of us arn't serious fps gamers, the g5 dosen't tend to make as much sense. the MX518 is also cheaper by about $10 to $20 USD

Yeah same here. I'm thinking about upgrading to the DeathAdder eventually, but I tried one once and wasn't too impressed. Any longtime users want to comment?

I hate big mice, and those that have more than 2 buttons + scroll.

Whatever you buy you're going to get used to easily for the most part, so just go for something that looks good/is cheap/has good features (although I find a lot of the features some mice have stupid)

And my buttons don't work 100% of the time, but that's due to extreme long use.

But in my experience its better to have more and turn it down, than not have enough when you need it. QFT easily my favorite mouse

I'm thinking of upgrading to the MX-518, it's on sale at JB Hi-Fi right now. Do you think $30 AUD (about $20 USD) is worth it?

But try before you buy if it's possible at all. The MX-518 is a pretty good mouse, but there are plenty of people who will swear by the mini logitech blue optical

It could be lighter IMO but its good for what it does, just turn up the DPI if i feel im going to slow.
