It's probably the first optical mouse I ever used and I've been using it since then. All the paint is coming off, the Microsoft lofo is all but gone, the shiny outer layer of plastic has been gone for ages.
Whenever other people use it, like when they play on my laptop for LANs they always complain how slowly it tracks, but I think it is great.
I'm really sad though because I think the usb connector is failing...
Actually, look at it again my mouse is exactly the same as that one except it has 2 side buttons instead of 1. It's called the explorer instead of the optical.
This one has 2 side buttons as well but I guess you meant that yours has 2 on one side as opposed to 1 on the left and 1 on the right so you probably have the intellimouse eplorer 3.0, which is also a good mouse.
This?

I have 2 extra ones just in case because they don't sell them anymore. I love it! 2 big side buttons, perfect tracking, simple and comfortable. I'm a hardcore gamer (mostly fps) and it has never failed me . i bought one last month brand new for $8 + shipping.
Yea I got mine online as well, but they're discontinued and you won't find em in stores is what I meant.

Doesn't Razer foot the bill for all of the things that you love on your TL website? Oh yeah and kick logitech's ass too.

Why do a lot of people say the MX518 is awesome but not the G5? I've looked at both mice and the G5 seems like a better version of the MX518. The shape is almost the same but the G5 has a higher DPI.

Sure you can have it it's the same. At least for starcraft. Not for others games though and definitely takes the latest version.

The best mouse I've ever used taking into account form factor and sensor is the razer salmosa. The only thing that may bother you is that the buttons squeak a bit for a while.
For what its worth: General use (and SC) - Salmosa > Logitech Mini > Microsoft Intelli 1.1 (or 3.0 if you have huge hands) > the rest FPS - Deathadder > Salmosa > MX518 > the rest

ive been using an mX510 for the past three or four years, and I've loved it.
I really disliked the mx310, I guess i just never found a way to be comfortable wilst holding it
the microsoft Intellimouse optical really is comfortable..I just found one laying around my house and I am seriously thinking of replacing my 510 with it

MX310! join the club. It's perfect ;d

I had many many different mouses. But Razer is waaaay the best. I have the Razer Pro Click, the color adds perfectly with my white Netbook

My deathadder stopped working The left click button started to do double clicks when I only pressed it down once, then after a while the button just completely stopped working. I had only been using it like half a year and I didn't treat it badly or anything. Currently using an MX518 now.

My current mouse:
Logitech BT96a, got in China in 2006 for 120RMB (~15 USD) I like the feel and the weight, though a USB mouse test that I used tells me it sucks.

I've been trying to find a Salmosa in Canada, but I can't seem to be able to see any stores that have it.

also does high dpi matter that much? every "gaming" mouse seems to sell how much dpi they have I use fingertip grip on it, but i have big hands. If you have daintier hands you could go with a g3 g3 is really nice. For a while I thought I was the only one who liked it's design. Nice to know there's another supporter
The mx300 is also really nice. It's just like the g3 minus the side buttons. It's what I used before the g3. I don't think it's made anymore though.

I saw it in futureshop (Montreal) along with the Deathadder and Lachesis. They were also selling the Razer Destructor mousepad.
