Microsoft wheel optical (srs, BoxeR and Reach both used this mouse)
basically it doesn't matter.
KTECs supposedly nice if you can get your hands on them. Always wanted to try a Ktec mouse but they are korean T_T. I don't like that really tiny mouse from logitech for laptops. My sister has that one.

MX518. It's kinda big if you have small hands though.

I got the G5 3 days ago, had the G1 before all I can say is, G1 is better for starcraft but G5 better for fps cause of the middle buttons that let you change the sensitivity, so Im switching to fast sens for sniper mode and slow sens for normal style.

I have used the MX518 for the past couple years and it still works fine. I love it. Get it.

I've been using the G5 for the past two years and I love it. It is very comfortable and very customizable. The laser in it has become faulty a week ago so I need to replace it. I'm thinking about getting the G9 or another G5.

Logitech MX500 & 510 & 518: Opti 800dpi, used these mice for a long time, All pretty much the same, never liked the bulkiness or shape, heaviest of all these (even with weight removed), has side buttons for browsing. Good mouse for browsing not so good for gaming imo. PS- the only difference I found between these are the colors..

a) my mx518 doesnt have weights? and isn't heavy, its .1 kg b) mx518 is 400 to 1600, you can set points and change them with the +/- on the mouse.

G9 is a very much finger mouse i rest my palm on my wrist rest and use a high dpi on my G9 and only move my fingers.

Standard Dell mouse:
Never had a problem with it.

yo
Ms optical 1.1a
Been using this mouse for the past 8 years. I have 2 extra ones just in case because they don't sell them anymore. I love it! 2 big side buttons, perfect tracking, simple and comfortable. I'm a hardcore gamer (mostly fps) and it has never failed me .

I have a Razer DeathAdder, it's an excellent mouse. It is not a small mouse though, it is definitely larger than a optical mini. But either way, runs smooth and has high dpi, I believe 1600? Also the customizable buttons are nice. I rally/attack with them. Anyways, I love it.

I'm pretty sure you can call logitech and have them send you another one for free.

Razer Diamondback 3G
Everytime someone makes a mouse thread i suggest this mouse. It's very reliable, good dpi, very comfortable, and affordable.

Razer Lachesis is hands down my favorite mouse. The 4000 dpi might be kinda high though if you dont use high res monitor//games (starcraft). But in my experience its better to have more and turn it down, than not have enough when you need it.

I wouldn't listen to almost all of you if you simply say i've used the mouse X and never tried the others and say OMFG IT'S THE BEST. Already tried all the razers, logitech, but not enough microsoft. Rank 1 : MX5XX. remove the weight if you want (but you won't get any warranty after. Who cares ? MX500 still hasn't broke yet, and the warranty is already dead by now :p) Rank 2 : Logitech optical mouse (MX3XX,G1,G3) Very good mouse not to big, ideal for small / medium hands. (also has weight, dunno about the last ones) Rank 3 : Microsoft (The one BG1 mentionned) they're very good aswell. Rank 4 : Microsoft mini (too small for my hand) Rank 123461234 : all the razer. I really can't stand them. The latest i got is deathadder, i still prefer 1000 times the mx500, why ? Cauz the buttons are way too much fragiles. What's worst is when i'm trying to lay down my finger i can't stop clicking or right clicking accidentaly. Very annoying. I still use it because you can configure the sensitivity more accurately than the others (read good for laptops if you've been using a lot of crt screen). Razers mice definitely aren't the best to play for starcraft 1. Except if you don't mind to spew away ur bucks 1 time a year at least (for hardcore hitter probably won't last longer than 2 months).

3 years mx310

^^OH SHIT!!! That's also the mouse I've been using for the last...eternity haha. It's probably the first optical mouse I ever used and I've been using it since then. All the paint is coming off, the Microsoft lofo is all but gone, the shiny outer layer of plastic has been gone for ages.
Whenever other people use it, like when they play on my laptop for LANs they always complain how slowly it tracks, but I think it is great.
I'm really sad though because I think the usb connector is failing...
Actually, look at it again my mouse is exactly the same as that one except it has 2 side buttons instead of 1. It's called the explorer instead of the optical.

The next best would be the G3 or G1. I think Stork uses the G1. The G3 and G1 have the same shape as the out of production MX300. I have yet to try them but if Stork uses the G1, it has to be pretty good, right?
Basically: 1. Logitech Mini Optical 2. Logitech G1 3. Logitech G3 Does anyone else see the hilarity of this post?
