personally, after playing HC trade, any amount of SC population feels huge.
I remember trying to hunt specific fractured affixs in Synthesis League (56+ int). It took me weeks, and I failed the 50/50 for (Arcane surge on hit / Int %) Synthesis implicit like 3 times. That was true trading hell.
One thing I feel that could be hard to obtain with less SC population is specific helm enchants on uniques

I recommend Hydrosphere + Sniper's Mark + chains, if you're using Eye of Winter. Not sure if you played when they came out / got reworked, but it adds a bunch of single target

first time in a while I start that late... hopyfully it won't be to hard to do :|
I mean it depends on what your goals are. I started Heist a month late after a break and it was fine. But I had no goals so everything I achieved felt good. Trade in Expedition is kind of scuffed. Not as many people and some things are scarce (lvl1 Enlighten is 1.5 ex atm. for example....).
There is another reason for this. The demand of Enlighten lvl 1 gems is SO much higher than last league. Last league, Enlighten/Empower/Enhance were able to drop at lvl 2 and even 3. This league however people have to level it all the way from 1 to 3. And I bet a lot of people are trying to make bank leveling 6+ Enlightens for a chance of hitting a level 4 gem or just selling at 3.
I can't complain about trade being hard yet, maybe some of the tough to find GG rare items aren't available or more expensive though.
In the beginning I thought it was because of the mana changes but this makes sense, too. Also explains why there is not that much of a difference between lvl 1, 2 and 3 enlighten... And yes, I don't think it's actually hard. Just somewhat less supply/selection compared to the last leagues.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking at.
I may got for the slinger way to do it but not sure yet... still only lvl 35
I'm playing deadeye selfcast eye of winter. Not very good, a lot of it because I suck at gearing casters and that I dont like Unleash.
I started EO/MoM and damage sucked, went crit + auras and doubled the damage. Definately not the best choice as deadeye, but the free chain is very nice since im slow and playing ssf.
Of the builds I've seen, the assassin CoC one seems the best.
i'm looking into eeither occulist or elementalist cause i want explosion (either occulist passive or impulsa for elementalist) and base my dps on crit, maybe power charge
I have to say my starter (Dagger Poison Crit Cobra Lash) was suboptimal...Or still is for that matter. The damage is ok but not much more. Plague Bearer and Vaal Blight help immensely with bosses and tougher rares. All in all mapping feels quite slow though and even though I'm not dying that often I feel more squishy than I would like to. It's my first time playing Assassin and the defenses are so weak on top of the limited access to life nodes... Seeing how squishy this character feels, the damage is kind of underwhelming. Although it might be a gearing issue as well. I haven't had that much time to play so I'm fairly low on currency and only started to push into red maps over the weekend. Currently, I'm trying to figure out my gear to get enough str and int to wear Zerphis Heart. I got one yesterday with Whisper of Doom annointed so that should give me a good offensive and defensive boost (can run enfeeble then). Then I need to figure out how to get ailment immunity since I only realise yesterday they nerfed the Elegant Form cluster jewel node, which I had planned to use for the remaining 30%...
Since this char is not going to be fun to do any bosses, are you guys having any suggestions? I'm kind of lost as to what I want to play next...
I started this league with Caustic Arrow (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2077932). Originally I was following this Bladefall/Blade Blast guide (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3063150/) which leveled using Caustic Arrow and switched into the combo at ~level 38, but I liked CA and never switched out. Once I bought a cheap 6L bow with +2 to level of bow gems and a level 21 CA gem, monster packs and bosses in maps were melting. I played till character level 90 and tier 11 red maps, and it felt fine to run those maps. Due to following a different guide to start out with, I played a Shadow ascendency, Trickster, instead of the usual Raider. Trickster is ok too, he has massive health and mana recovery as long as he's killing packs.
For HC I played Spectral Helix. I'll add a caveat that I'm a bit of a casual, and before jumping into this league my last league was 3.0 years ago. I also never got far into hardcore until this league. This time I copied a top build from poe.ninja (SSFHC ladder, Spectral Helix) and got to level 75 in SSFHC and finished the campaign, which is a personal accomplishment for me.
The meta build would be Spectral Shield Throw, Gladiator (https://poe.ninja/challengehcssf/builds). I tried leveling it in softcore, and I can see why it is the most popular choice. You have the max block, 75/75% block/spell block of Gladiator with a high armor shield, but you're not melee. The skill lets you be ranged, and you have enough damage with bleed.
Lastly, a non-fad of the month melee build would be Dominating Blow. I haven't tried it myself, but saw Haasts from the thread above playing it, and from looking at a guide, it seems like it has good damage against bosses with the summoned minions from Dominating Blow.

Can you convert into Spectral Helix poison maybe? I read that one is actually good.
If you want another build, the shield skills are obviously good for all kind of things (bleed, cold conversion crit, poison etc). Forbidden Rite totems is really good but also has some mad expensive chase items that make it much better. Spectre builds are still good, Summon Reaper bleed builds are good (might have to use Occultist if you want it to be cheap while having good clear), Eye of Winter is said to be pretty good if used correctly, might be fun for you if enjoy Frozen Orb from D2. Any kind of trapper will do as well honestly, but that's not everyones style.

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't really want to convert. I managed to figure out my gear and with Zerphis my clear is absolutely fine in T16s now. Boss damage still kind of sucks but I'm releveling my plague bearer which is part of the problem. Also my mana sucks vs bosses, when Cwdt takes hefty chunks (enfeeble costs 40...) However, I still feel too squishy. Only 4,8k Life and 400 ES, Acro/PhaseAcro/Winddancer, Cwdt with IC/Enfeeble, Fortify with Dread Banner, Blood & Sand and the defensive stuff from assassin. As I said, I don't die that often. As long as I don't get one-shot I'm fine. But dangerous mods+sirus/beyond mobs, conquerers, logbooks etc. will just one-shot me more often than I enjoy...
Long story short, I want something more tanky with good boss damage. I don't really need clear. I'm fine with running maps on one char and log to a different one for conquerers etc. I wanted to play Eye of Winter (Frozen Orb is one of my favourite skills from D2) but atm. I don't feel like playing another chain build. Maybe Spectre as I have never played a summoner before or Forbidden Right. That one would probably be fun on a champion with Kaoms and Replica Forbidden Shako for maximum tankiness but that's definitely outside of my budget (this league anyways).
On another note: My frames have been getting worse and worse this league. My game is usually quite fluid and rarely drops below 30 fps even with delirium and shit. This was still the case at the start of the league. But now I often have multi second freezes when mobs spawn during expedition encounters, beyond, breach, conquerer spawns etc. It's super annoying. :/

Also, those logbook map are nice.
Nice, what setup are you running right now? Also yes, Logbooks are great. I just don't get enough of them. :>
trying to fallow 2-3 build taht i saw on poe ninja
Thank you, looks interesting! I got a few questions though:
1. Why are you running power charge on crit. Is your acendency not enough to sustain power charges atm.? 2. Why do you traveling along the outside, right of the cold clusters? Is there something else you are planning to take? 3. You didn't allocate Pain Attunement yet. Is that by mistake because that should give you a massive damage boost.
I am doing a hollow palm ice crash Raider , is beginning to do good damage. And still have couple of upgrades that will give some major buff in damage.

1. i didnt try without it but it ramp up quiclky with it. mayb ei'll try to remove it and see how it does 2. dam you're right, I don'y need to do all this ! 3. yeah, mistake, I waited to put it until I was low life but forgot to actually put it
That's nuts. Also explains one of my questions (PCoC, haven't read that one in ages).
Also if you're still looking for a build idea, Rage Vortex is insane as well. There are so many new builds that are good tbh, even though some old ones don't work well anymore I don't think build diversity is bad at all atm.
