On the one hand i could slap myself, that i didnt watch it earlier, on the other hand i'm really thankful, that i didnt have to wait for season 2 and even for the most part of season 3 due to this fact. i would recommend it to anyone who didnt watch it yet. The characters and the story are pretty unique and almost all of the characters (also the bad guys) are likeable. ps: you shouldnt mind the ultra-low-budget-cgi-bears of season 1 when watching it, just look out of a window when they show up so you dont get affected by them... hmmmmmm, bear brain, hinna hinna I watched the first season and got through halfway through the second or so but can't remember why I stopped watching it. Think it's one of those anime where binge watching it is great. How's the third season? Does it conclude the story? I was at the part where + Show Spoiler + our main MC decided to work with one of the other teams which was right after that crazy guy who works with skins or makes copies died I think.

Golden Kamuy is my favorite show of the season by far. It took them three seasons to get here, but the art is finally good and consistent. Gone are the nightmare days of CG bears. All the episodes in S3 have been great, whether they're self-contained stories or part of the larger narrative. Golden Kamuy flipflops between crass comedy and serious moments, and somehow manages to nail the tone of both (moreso than another anime that shall not be named). Probably helps that half the cast is batshit insane, a hardened soldier, or both. When the show wants to be good, it delivers. And no, it's not over yet. The manga is probably ending sometime in the next year though.

It's probably the most boring and pedestrian take on Greek myth I've ever seen, the MC is unbearable, and the plot is...oof. Predictable is an understatement. The music (when it isn't being shafted by poor sound mixing) and art were good enough I suppose. I dunno, curious about other people's thoughts, especially given the reviews I've seen. As far as story and characters go I think I liked it even less than Dragon's Dogma (though I think I rate that higher than most people because I just played the game and didn't really enjoy the plot nearly as much as others seemed to). Netflix's anime division really seems to think that gore is all it takes to make a compelling "adult" anime... Edit: Also, I thought it might be my crappy Wifi or Netflix, but this has horrible awful no good very bad framerates to the point where I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not. Especially noticeable in fight scenes. I have been burned before by these Netflix American anime (I watched Castlevania and I found it really boring, it was supposed to be good according to general opinion, what I've seen of the greek mythology show didn't spark anything either) so I'm not surprised at all by your experience. I think the target audience is just too different from "us" regular Japanese animation consumers.

+ Show Spoiler + I feel sorry for Masao. He was a character with a disposable personality (and appearance) who was meant to be disposed of.

Shingeki, Slime, Neverland, Dr. Stone, ReZero, 5-toubon, Log Horizon, World Trigger etc... I can't recall seeing an anime season this stacked for a long long time. Spazer answered it in a way that i couldnt do any better i guess (i'm a bit drunk, maybe this sentence doesnt make sense at all, hehe). However the 3rd season was great as well (a slightly bit worse than season 2, but still my favorite show of this season). as i said earlier i would recommend it to anyone who likes a good/unique story and really special characters. the comedy is getting better with every season as well imo. i had to laugh quite a lot this time - and i mean i really laughed in front of my laptop while sitting there all alone, which doesnt happen too often. and yeah, the next season is horrible... because i wont have much time for my real life due to the fact that i probably will watch 10-12 animes, urgh cant remember such an upcoming season

Sure, I don't think anyone will disagree, but I feel like in all the years since I started watching seasonal anime, this had the most in one season. If you know any that had more, feel free to share. I'm interested I had no problems personally with the CG bears. Glad to hear that the anime is still great. Gonna have to pick it back then. Do you know if there are plans to finish adapting the whole source if it'll be finished soon? I imagine we'll get Golden Kamuy S4 since they've gotten this far already, but who knows. The manga's reasonably popular, but it's not so mainstream that it's a foregone conclusion.

I've always recommended Gintama but it is a commitment. Not for everyone.

I am going to read this, and I'm going to be extremely upset in a few hours once I've finished it. I need more and I need it immediately. This is like my ideal manga, it subverts my expectations in the perfect ways, sometimes its in small ways, but sometimes its in ways that make me feel like someone punched me in the throat, and when I look back at the other stuff I read like Black Clover all I can think is, "why am I even."

Mohdoo, once you get into Gintama, you'll love it. As a long running series that had more hiccups as it got closer to ending (anime time slot changes, manga changing publishers), it did the damn thing. Some of the best emotional responses from me in a very long time

Some people are recommending him Dragonball Z and fan service stuff, that feels very... off given what he's said he's liked. Good people of this thread, what would you recommend to Jim Belushi if he said he liked the Ghibli movies and recently saw Your Name and loved it? I recommended Anohana, and A Silent Voice, since they're both a lil romantic, and dramatic, weren't too long, weren't too weird, and made me cry when I was binging my sad rom coms for like two weeks.
