I actually think Gasly will end off with the most since he's healthily off the top 5, but can still open up enough of a gap to the midfield most races to pit for fresh tires.

Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton says Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas has been given “a nice helping hand” by one of the Briton’s long-term race engineers crossing the garage to work with the Finn in the sister car. obviously Bottas did rise to the challenge but yea, it looks like multiple things converged.“This year he has my number two engineer… and he is learning a lot from that,” the champion told reporters at the Spanish Grand Prix. “That’s to be expected, the little bit of a step that he’s taken. ... The Finn’s previous race engineer Tony Ross left the Formula 1 team at the end of last season to lead the engineering side at the Mercedes HWA Racelab Formula E outfit that is due to debut later this year. His place was taken by Italian Riccardo Musconi, previously Hamilton’s performance engineer. An F1 veteran, Musconi engineered for Rubens Barrichello during the Brazilian’s season with Brawn GP in 2009. With Mercedes, he worked with Nico Rosberg. edit: more of the same https://f1i.com/news/331996-new-mercedes-race-engineer-akin-to-fresh-start-for-bottas.html

He's a 4 time champion... There were question marks over his driving skills even during his 4 WDC winning years. The years at Ferrari has not been kind to him. Not sure if the pressure of delivering a WCC for Ferrari is getting to him. Kimi left Ferrari and his performance this year has been outstanding. E- Vettel going on meds. 2stop strat Verstappen covers with soft. 2stopper too Ferrari doing a wonderful job fucking Vettel up now LOL

He's a 4 time champion... He's consistently shown that he does bad under pressure throughout this and last season. Every time he's even close to another car he does something dumb. He's a fast driver, there's no doubt about that, but he's a bad racer. Also Ferrari fucking up strategy again. Hard on Leclerc what in the absolute fuck? Not to mention letting the faster car sit behind the slower one on a track where overtaking is difficult, for 4-5 laps too many, twice in the same race.

Exactly, Vettel is strongest when he has an empty field in front of him. But even then we remember races where pressure from behind would force him to make mistakes. Something Ham never does.
