soO is 0-5 vs Finals and Gumiho has been kicking ass lately. Not to mention he has a sick record vs soO (though a lot of it is in online tournaments)

id be okay with either one of them winning. as a terran player id prefer gumiho to win but since soO has come close so many times, i wouldnt feel bad if soO won.

It really really breaks my heart seeing these 2 in the finals. soO just because he straight up deserves a victory (and is probably the better player overall). GuMiho, because he has been around for so long and he is such a quiet influence on the game. It is so hard for me to cheer for one over the other.

This is the one. soO has to win it and he will.
If he loses tomorrow, he will never win a GSL. That would just not be right, so he will win.

is it wrong to say stats is a completely different opponent when it comes to mindset?

Season 1 Stats was in quite literally the form of his life and looked unstoppable. He had insane GSL+IEM runs and Adepts were ruling the meta.
Very different (far more daunting) than current Gumiho, who had close to a pure-mirror run with a pretty balanced TvZ meta.

The thing is Gumiho is in great shape and it's maybe his only chance to win a GSL when soO is in normal form, i'm cheering for soO but Gumiho is impressive nowadays

soO has said that he felt very confident going into his match with Stats. Not that it helped him win, but your assessment is not consistent with soO's opinion and mindset in the last or this final.

I assume the pros have their own thoughts and expectations and so forth but that's their business.
For instance a ton of people here on TL are claiming Gumiho is a massive favorite but Gumiho himself outright said "objectively I'm the underdog."
Different perspectives entirely. From the fan perspective, Stats was a far more daunting opponent in Season 1 than Gumiho is now.

Gumigod doesn't even need the finals curse for this one

I predict one game where Gumiho goes mech, soO makes swarm hosts and goes "hey why haven't I won for free?" as he get steamrolled
