Here we see CC in its natural habit. It is a creature that relies on natural resources for its daily intake. It must feed constantly in order to keep up with its energy expenditure. Once the resources are exhausted, CC must search for a new feasting ground. Since this creature likes to avoid conflict at all costs despite its large size, it has been nicknamed the gentle giant. Through using its extraordinary senses, it manages to evade predators as it propels itself into the air and takes flight by releasing methane gas at a continuous rate. Truly a marvelous creature.
Due to its stealthy nature, it is generally very difficult to come across. That's why this is a fantastic opportunity to study such a legendary creature! There are only several hundred left in the wild. This paints a very grim future for what was once a prosperous creature, especially in light of the recent spike in predators. In the event that CC detects an enemy nearby, the first reaction is to hide its presence very swiftly as shown in the video.
If it succeeds and the enemy leaves, it can re-establish itself and continue its feasting. However, in very rare circumstances, the enemy may return. If found, CC resorts to defending its own territory. One can expect much struggle and resilience, both by CC and its predator. As the video shows, it's a highly contested battle where a victor is not decided right away. CC attempts to deprive its predator of oxygen while its predator struggles under the weight of such a massive creature. If CC is successful, it regains its feeding grounds.
However, CC's predators are not to be underestimated. More so, a single high-pitched cry can alert others to CC's location. It's tight rope execution at its finest and the outcome determines if CC gets to live another day or perish like many of its kind. Unfortunately for CC, its predator is extremely resilient and manages to rally his comrades while causing some damage.
Watch Carefully!
Upon realizing the futility of the contain, CC is forced to take flight to avoid the relentless onslaught of its enemies which surround it from all sides. Is this the end? Can CC hang on enough till its enemies have given up pursuit? We will have to revisit this site in the near future to see the aftermath.
Farewell?
