Welcome to The Hot Seat, a King of the Hill showmatch series hosted by JoRoSaR and facilitated by DingIt.
Each week we will be inviting players to compete in a Best-of-9, winner-takes-all for a showmatch that results in the winners building a bounty and playing for a larger prize pool the next time around!
Date: Thursday 23/Apr/2015
Time: 20:00 CET (Converted to your local timezone: 19:00 GMT (+00:00))
The format is Bo9. The map list is as follows (new map pool):
Coda LE (2)
Echo LE (2)
Expedition Lost (2)
Vaani Research Station (2)
Cactus Valley LE (4)
Inferno Pools (4)
Iron Fortress LE (4)
Game 1: Starting map decided by vetoes (coinflip to determine who vetoes first).
Games 2-7: Loser of the previous game picks from remaining maps in the map pool.
Games 8-9: If there is a Game 8 (i.e. score is 4-3), a new round of map vetoes begins. The player who vetoed second before the start of the showmatch, vetoes first this time. We veto down to 3 maps. Player on the lower score picks the map for Game 8. If there is a game 9, the losing player picks between the two remaining maps.
Example: Score is PartinG 3-4 Life and the 3 maps after Game 8 vetoes are Coda, Echo & Expedition Lost...PartinG picks Echo for Game 8, and if there is a Game 9, Life can choose between Coda & Expedition Lost.
The above rule allows for players to focus on the maps they are most familiar with, when the match gets down to the final few all-important games.
Our showmatch series starts at a bounty of $150. The winner stays on to play next week, and $75 gets added to the bounty next time around. If a challenger defeats the King of the Hill, they take that player's bounty and start from $150 the following week as they begin to build a bounty of their own!
If ShoWTimE wins, he claims the bounty of $375 on Bunny, and next week plays for $150 as he attempts to build a bounty of his own.
If Bunny wins, he takes home $375 and his bounty remains at the maximum for the next challenger!
The prize fund each week is (currently) capped at a maximum of $375 (four wins), but may increase in the future.
