One of my few obsessions! I learned how to solve them back in high school, but in my first year of college I took a class on speed solving a cube. At first I was pretty slow, and it took me around a minute. But then after obsessing for the rest of the year, I'm down to a 20 second average, with my fastest time ever being 14.85 seconds.

I went to a competition a little bit ago, and it turns out according to the association that hosted it, I'm the 300th fastest person in the world

I can do it in about 2 minutes, but I'm doing in a basic row by row way. I've always wanted to learn how to do it faster, and I tried another method that I found on the internet but I couldn't figure out the last step.

So that means I'm still a beginner Rubix Cuber!

haha i thought the best part was the temporary pause to make sure you had it complete, then you hit the button

good ish, i'll never be able to do it that fast until i switch methods. my best is still around 45-60 seconds (never timed) cause i can't visualize the cube, and cause i waste moves doing top bottom middle

I started going for speed back in April, using the basic layer-by-layer approach. Never got faster than 40 seconds. Did you attend the WC in early October? A friend and me went to Budapest, just for the experience and for getting owned :p
At the moment, I'm teaching myself the Heise method. You're using Friedrich, right?

Which method is that? Doesn't look like F2L to me, unless you're doing the last layer on your left or something?

I'm trying to learn F2L Permute corners permute edges, I'm doing 35 seconds at best. I haven't fully memorized it so hopefully I get faster once I know all the moves.
