So I got an update from part 1 of my blog post here
I just got a call. So Here's what's going down. Basically he said he couldn't explain what they do over the phone so he wanted me to come to a business meeting which is at 8:30p.m. on wednsday. I get off of work at 7:30, so this works for me. He said that this was an opportunity in which they or I, he wasn't clear on which, could make up to 36,000$ in a year in BONUS income.
He said the reason he picked me was that he liked my personality and that I was good with people (not entire bullshit, I do have a charismatic/charming personality). And that he didn't want to finish school and go the traditional route, similar to what I am currently doing (I am taking a year off and working as a cashier right now to save up money) so either he is high level full of bullshit or he genuinely has something cool to offer me coz he knows exactly what position I am in.
So at this point, he still didn't say much about wtf he does and what his company is but basically I am going to meet with a "business partner" of his, who is even younger than him (lol) and that if we have a mutual agreement on wednsday night, we will move things forward.
I'm like ok sounds good, but if you could sum up what you do in like one sentence, what would you say? He responded something like
"We generate residual income over credit cards/debit cards/telecom/ blah blah blah which in total is a 10.5$ trillion dollar industry"
So bottom line, There is a meeting for 8:30PM on wednsday that I am going to go to, I have an address and everything. ANd I should recieve a phone call sometime tomorrow (tuesday night) by the office, which I presume, is most likely going to confirm me to the "bizness meeting" the following day.
SOOOOOO, my initial thoughts are I am bringing no money in my wallet, I actually dont think I am going to bring my wallet. I am not handing over any info like my social security, bank account, blah blah blah, that leaves any of my money vulnerable to being theieved or my identity for that matter. And other then that, hmm either this is some elaborate scam to scam me out of my next to no amount of wealth OR great opportunity O_O

I've had more extreme cases, where I was told to go to a official meeting white collar meeting. They had professional software and the lot. But even the presentation screams mlm.
But seriously, it's probably not a rape scam or kidney trafficking, but you'll end up in some office with other unemployed folks being told they can sell some insurance/windwhieldfix/pyramid/sales scheme. Some may even show up in a suit and tie.
oh nvm. I guess my best friend tried to get me to do a multi level thingy. I saw that immediately and was like no.
Yea by the sound of it, I don't have high hopes for this to be a legitimate way to make money, just a losers101 to being a bum trying to get rich quick

Basically a pyramid scheme where you actually sell stuff. Basically you'll be a door-to-door salesman peddling junk, and recruiting other people to sell junk for you, and you get "compensated" for your sales and your recruit's sales.

ok yea that's what I figured it. The only way I am ever going to sell things is for a legitimate fortune 500 company as a sales associate that gets paid per hour + commission, everything else is gonna be a polite 'fuck you and no'

Wait, I thought you were worried this meeting would be a "fuck you"?

I'm more worried bout this being pyramid scheme/mlm. That is the only logical explanation left sadly
