You advanced to the season finale. How do you feel?
I came without feeling any pressure so I am glad that I grabbed the victory. I haven’t been satisfied with my performance as of late so I played with a comfortable mindset today and I think that made my performance a little better.
This tournament is not really something that you can approach without feeling pressure.
Proleague round 5 week 3 ended so I was on break, but I also haven’t been feeling well as of late. And since my performances in the booth haven’t been going well, I decided to just not try to feel any pressure so I tried to just forget everything pressure related. But as of right now, I’ve been fighting a cold for 2 weeks already.
Were you affected by your quarter-finals loss?
I worked really hard to just be satisfied with the fact that I had made it all the way to the quarter-finals after winning the championship last season (laughs). Overall, I’m just really disappointed that I wasn’t able to put on proper performances. I lost my match in the quarter-finals because I just didn’t do well.
How did you prepare for your match against PartinG?
I didn’t really prepare anything specific. I just prepared for each game to come since it was a bo5. Rather than focus on the match, I focused on taking care of my health.
What do you think the season finale will be like?
Honestly, I don’t really know anything about the season finale. I feel good because I was able to qualify for a great tournament. I just tell myself to work real hard regardless of what tournament I participate in.
The season finale has a big prize pool and you can earn a lot of points.
I’m not really putting a lot of focus into the prize pool or the points. I feel like the prize pool and the points will just stack up on its own as long as I do well, work hard, and win a lot. I’m probably a little strange seeing as how I don’t really feel anything big.
Any specific player you want to face for the season finale?
I don’t really have anyone. I think all the players who advanced to the semi-finals are just better than me (laughs). There’s no guarantee that I’ll do well so I’m not really confident right now.
What are your goals for the season finale?
I don’t want to get eliminated too easily. Ever since a long time ago, I would always get really nervous. So I am working hard right now to make sure that I don’t get angry at myself for my performances even if I do lose. I want to play games like that and I want to play fun games too.
Anything else you would like to say?
A lot of people are worried about me because I’ve lost a lot of games lately and because I got eliminated too easily from the quarter-finals. I stated that I hope the fans don’t have too many expectations for me because I’m lacking in confidence, and I’m still lacking. But I’m trying out different styles and plays right now so I hope people will keep on following me because I feel like I’ll be able to bring back the force that won me a Code S championship.

You advanced to the season finale. How do you feel?
This was a place that I wanted to get to so badly. I feel so good because I was able to advance like this.
It was a very close loss for the quarter-finals. Were you okay after taking that loss?
For about a day, I kept thinking about how close it was. It was so bad that I wasn’t able to function for my daily life. But after a day passed by, I fully admitted my defeat and just kept on practicing afterwards.
Did you do a lot of preparing for today’s match?
I practiced on ladder and I also did a lot of practicing on the side. The season finale tournament was a really important tournament to me. I’m sure my opponent also felt the same way. I really did prepare extensively.
Games one and three concluded pretty quickly. Were those games prepared beforehand?
I had prepared several strategies. I decided upon which build order to use depending on the situation and the condition. I was in good condition today.
Anyone specific you’d like to face for the season finale?
I would like to face everyone if possible, but if I do end up making it far then I want to face sOs again. I want revenge.
Was there anything disappointing about your quarter-finals loss?
I wasn’t feeling well so I couldn’t properly play my games. I had a lot of situations where things were going well for me but I wasn’t able to focus properly. It was disappointing that I lose because I wasn’t able to fully comprehend what was going on. Even in that last game, I probably would have won had I just defended from a different position, but I needlessly went in for an attack and that resulted in a loss.
You must want the season finale championship pretty badly.
Yes, very much so. The goal is the championship. The tournament is going to be full with powerful opponents, but I’ve had the confidence to win a championship for a long time now. I feel like I already accomplished 50% of what I was aiming for my qualifying for the season finale. The rest of the 50% will be determined based on how I prepare for the season finale.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank the supervisor and the coach for coming with me, and I want to thank the supervisor’s wife. I want to thank my teammates who helped me with practice and thank the other team’s players who helped me with practice. I also want to thank everyone else who offered their help for practice. I want to work even hard than now so that I can properly show everyone what I have been working on during practice for the season finale. Lastly, I want to thank our sponsors LG Electronics, Steelseries, Googims Company, Nvidia, ASRock, Kingston HyperX, Super Flower, and Coca-Cola.
