I'm going to agree with Krafia, no lynching day 1 seems like a poor decision, though I would say maybe the 14 hour deadline for worry could be pushed to 24. I mean sure, someone could have came in and posted but it takes time to read everything and come up with something concret, so I agree with Chew sense its still the first day and it isn't even half over yet.
Oh and Meatless, my point is the way you phrased it it sounded like your main goal was to lynch lurkers, not pressure them. It was more of: Would you keep to that point even if you had a decent read on someone? Not a fan of your answer personally.
PS Rainbow, is he a smurf given he only has five posts and they are all in this thread?

EBWOP: The rainbow question goes to chew too.

I'm a friend of a regular Mafia-goer. He wanted me to sign up and play.
Can we stop talking about lurker lynching and policy? It's horrendously cyclical and produces nothing but obvious answers.

MLuneth is scum. Doesn't want to vote Nobodywonder but agrees his actions are scummy.
Discuss.

How exactly does that make him scummier then NW? I think you just want to get your random lynch right.

Alright.. not much to work with and if anybody has any counter-questions for me please ask. Even if you think it's a dumb question, it's best to get them out of the way. I'd like to try and get some discussion going so..
@MLuneth Could you expand on why you chose Arctic to vote on when there were others (bduddy, ChewOnStu) without any content as well. Other than it just being a coin flip.
@Krafla
karla
Although you believe we may be giving some lurkers too easy of a time how do you feel about Luneth's vote on Arctic vs the other lurkers? Do you think it was too early to cast a serious vote on someone who has not been present or was it a justified action in your eyes?
@ChewOnStu Welcome to the game On the subject of lurkers, how do you feel we should deal with them if not for voting on them/lynching them when they become a problem? Every vote is meant to lynch so without that pressure how do we force bad town/scum to participate? I do agree that it is too early to assume anybody is lurking and not just busy but it is important to be able to react quickly, especially on D1.
@WoS you mentioned strategies town should implement, or rather asked about them. I was hoping you could expand on your own thoughts on the matter. Do you have anything to say about my opening post or anything to add to it?
@Matriarch How do you feel about the Lynch All Liars policy. Should town attempt to coax out scum by lying and possibly confusing the rest of us / hurting town in the process?
@Raven same question as above, how do you feel about Lynching all Liars. As Scum has to lie to survive do you think this would add pressure and eventually lead to a correct lynch if we caught somebody?
@Rainbows You mention Luneth being scummy, what do you think about his vote on Arctic? As Arctic has yet to show up, do you think it is more town oriented (trying to get a lurker to post) or scummy (attacking the easiest player early on in hopes that Arctic doesn't defend himself).
@Frorgon You mention suspicious behavior being one of the key things you will be looking for, is there anything you could note so far that you would consider suspicious?
@NobodyWonder You say you don't want to lynch anybody D1 if it is unjustified, could you expand and does that mean if we have no concrete proof of scum you will vote to no-lynch or would you get rid of the scummiest lurker?
@Arctic Can give us your thoughts on what has happened so far and answer most of the questions I have asked to the others.
@Taco Could you give your thoughts on Luneth voting for Arctic, which alignment do you believe it favors?
If I missed anybody sorry =/

These questions will acheive nothing. Pressuring the entire thread to talk is pointless.

If you're not pressuring people, then what is the purpose of asking questions? To fling shit around? Get a clusterfuck of posts going up in here?
Most of your questions will produce non-alignment indicative answers, and more likely nobody will expand on them at all. If you're town seriously focus on one subject at a time, other than taking everything that's been said, and asking people to "expand" on it.

@OmniEulogy I meant that lynching purely for posting little/not posting at all could be bad. However simply voting for a lurker can put pressure on them to talk and then if the person voting is satisfied with said lurkers answer they should remove their vote, so i agree with this. However, putting pressure on a lurker and not having a response by near the end of the day then a prod/replacement could be potentially needed.
Although to completely answer your question: Lurkers could be questioned for reads, opinions etc as well as being voted for.

I'm of the opinion that lynch all liars, while a valid policy is ultimately not the best. Yes liars are bad and they hurt the town, but were in a newbie game. People are going to fuck up accidently, not that it shouldn't be punished but it shouldn't take precident over hunting down leads and solid cases. Now if you combind that with an effective case, I'm all for it.

I will say that I liked your early posts and I am fairly passive aggressive so I apologize for that and I do find it odd that Luneth placed a vote on Arctic so early, but I disagree that he seems scummy because of his unwillingness to vote on NW

What I'm saying is -- his vote on Arctic makes no sense, because he'd rather vote a lurker over a suspicious player.
Voting a lurker does nothing really. Voting someone suspect makes them talk.

##Unvote Alright ladies and gents, I'm back. As far as the strategies I asked about, it was to get discussion going and I'm glad to see I accomplished that mission. With that said let's analyze. Lynch All Liars - Newbies take note: there is absolutely ZERO reason for any town player to lie about anything. Mistakes can be made, sure, but as you are town you should have nothing to hide. Lying is a massive scumtell. That said, catching someone in a lie you cannot be sure it is a lie or simply a mistake. There are other steps you can take to ensure it was a scumslip and not just a bad town error so if you support the lynching of a liar you'd better be damn sure why.
Lynch All Lurkers - While I supported this strategy once upon a time, I no longer see its usefulness because you can 'pressure' a lurker with your vote all you want, but votes change so often at the end of the day it is meaningless. Lurkers gonna lurk; leave it up to a vig later in the game if they still look scummy. Ideally everyone will participate all day btu that just doesn't happen most of the time. Remember who is lurking at when they show up to the thread; keep an eye on them because as someone posted earlier there is usually at least one scum amongst them.
Random Vote - This is horseshit and no one should be doing it. I was the first post in the thread and it was a joke. Come on people. Hunt for fucking scum and make your vote USEFUL.
No Lynch - Was stated already but horrible. You're basically giving scum a free pass and stating "well we're a shit town and not good enough to find scum D1."
Alright, with all of that out there, I'm going to start analyzing the thread thus far. Some good posting from people, some crappy posting. I'll be posting again shortly.

There is no instant majority, if we change our mind in the next 36 hours, we can unvote and vote for someone else.
Put down a vote and justify it. I am going to keep calling for votes on nobodywonder. I know his scumbuddies are trying to protect him, but the rest of town is just hedging bets.
