He won because he doesn't have to worry about his wrists blowing up when he splits his units.
He won because he doesn't have to play against the time.
He won because he's not under the preassure being the last of his race in Ro4.
He won because he doesn't have a community praying on him to win to save the WoL's face as a complete game failure.
Sure, there's no balance involved.
i'll remember that when BLs get destroyed by the HSM when terrans are playing against time.
Friendly reminder, that HSM got no AoE in HotS and a stupid "charge up time"

Actually most match-ups look pretty much the same in terms of what we can do with them right now, but people use different angles to view them in order to make them look different.
PvP is a rushfest? PvP too short! PvP goes into long macro game? PvP too boring! PvP is twilight vs robo vs stargate vs twilight? Omg too coinflippy.
TvT rush? Omg great micro! TvT long macro game? Omg tanks, so intense! TvT mech vs bio? Omg I wonder if he can outcontrol the mech, awesome!
Anyway I'm more interested in why terrans feel the need to remind us in every single TvT that "omg TvT is really the greatest match-up I'm jizzing my pants over this" than I am in the actual valor of the match-ups.

Because the game was broken with a massive imbalance in Terran's favor for a long time and that probably has a lot of explanatory power for MVP's success. So even if we agree zerg imba is bad, if one race has to be imba better terran than anything else.
Terran being imba wasn't why MVP won 4 GSLs.
And your last sentence makes absolutely no sense to me. Terran being imba is better than anything else? From whose perspective, a Terran's? Come off it.

Nope, in Balance Update #11 it once again deals splash damage.

I guess I'm behind on that one.
Yet, it just means that Zerg has to simply pre-split his stuff to render ton of resources and supply useless. Still, I guess pre-splitting is pretty hard for Zerg players if they manage to lose throw their entire army into one vortex.

Seeker only costs 75 energy now, meaning that ravens with the energy upgrade will instantly have enough energy for a seeker. 6-8 late game ravens are going to be able to launch more than 1 seeker in a battle and the splash is pretty good on them. It won't be rendered useless at all, since PDD is still usable, and the seeker will at least hit something.
You may not like ZvZ, but mark my words...the Final will be epic no matter what. It's the last GSL Final for WoL. Even if you hate ZvZ, watch it. You won't regret it, I guarantee. New studio and everything. GOM will ensure this Final is epic af.
...and the Viewercount will be more than 50% less for the Finals. The last ZvZ Finals I watched was LosirA vs NesTea. I will never ever watch a ZvZ, no matter who plays.
Taeja gave me some hope after game 1, but Roro was just too much. Credit to Roro though. Kind of disgusting what this game turned into for the last 9 or 10 months.
Zerg was just way too strong after the patch and terran was terrible. Time for a new game. I mean let me just go through some quick stats. I look at TLPD. 4 of the top 5 foreigners are zerg. For Korea the top 6 are zerg and the top 11 are zerg or protoss.
For premier tournaments on liquipedia starting in May. 31 tournaments and 62 finalists. 10 of the 62 finalists are terrans ! 16% less than half of what it should be.
Terran has like no representatives at WCS, HSC having a zvz semis and zvz finals over and over and over was just so disheartening as a fan. Not to mention the Parting and mass amount of zergs that was blizzard cup and how every foreign zerg was beating korean t's where foreign t's were non-existent. I mean just look at TL's foreign lineup and you can see the balance of power.
It went from zergs saying its not imblanaced to "well terran was more imba before" I can only hope HOTS is no where near as fucked up as WOL was at the end.
This is almost as satisfying as when MC got eliminated. It's great because people twice, or even three times count their anger. You all were this mad in the RO8 when you started assuming there would be a ZvZ finals, this mad after the RO8, and now here we have you again expressing the same anger as before. Maybe you lied to others and yourselves in your ostensible certainty of a ZvZ finals, otherwise you would have turned away after the RO8. No.... No.... You kept on watching, and every time you resuscitated that slither of hope it was stomped on again and again, renewing your pain and, of course the most important piece of it all, my pleasure.
Unfortunately for the GSL, while there is no doubt that they're the premiere league, the price set for either, monthly premium, yearly or a league pass is way too high for a game that lacks the excitement of a balanced game. I know this is not a balance thread discussion, but the fact that almost every premiere tournament winner is a Zerg, kind of takes away of the game.

Luckily HotS is here very soon and we won't have to deal with this anymore.

No, I didn't watch. In fact, after once the GSL turned into yet another ZvZ fest late 2012 (with a sprinkle of Parting) I decided it is not worth my money. I can have my fair share of zergs winning almost everything in every European weekly / monthly cup. I can watch games played by Snute, Vortix, Nerchio, SortOf, Bly etc.
These are some good players, way above the level of average stream-viewing scrubs and they can deliver some good game. I really enjoyed the, ZvZ finals of the aAa pro challenge was pretty good (Vortix vs Snute).
GomTV twitch rebroadcast is live now and somehow I do not feel like watching it. Only 1500 are watching which is way less than what you would see for a something like a ZOTAC or GO4SC2.

what makes you think blizzard won't throw a nerf hammer at everything in hots? o.o

Based on how ridiculous bio + mass widow mine plays out vs Z, I think they will

then I fail to see how moving to hots will make it any better anyways
