The match structure is as follows: each match places two teams against each other, and one team is seeded higher than the other based on their group standings: the team with the higher seed picks its player for the first set before the other team picks its player. What this means is that the lower seeded team gets a small advantage in the beginning of the match by having the opportunity to make its player choice based on the opposing player's race or playstyle and even the set map itself. The team that wins each set picks its next player before the losing team, so that in each set that a team loses, it's granted a small advantage for that team in the next set by picking its player after the opposing team picks its player. Think of it as a system similar to loser's map choice, but for choosing players. Because there weren't played any matches yet, every team is in the same place in the group, and as such it was decided which teams had the higher seeds by flipcoin. So by flipcoin, The King's Men, Team Evolution, Guns and Roaches and Team Galaxy are the teams that got the higher seed for this week, and as such they're the ones that pick their player first for the first set. EDIT: I've added the rule to the ruleset in the OP, make sure to read it.

We would give that little advantage to the losing team in the previous set. And it's not one team picking every one of its players after the other team throughout the whole match, it's a team picking its player last only if they lost the previous set. Let me illustrate: (bold = player picked first) Team A - Team B → Team A is higher seeded than Team B... player1 > player2 → ...so they have to pick their player first player3 < player4 → because Team A won Set 1, they have to pick first again for Set 2 player5 > player6 → as Team B won Set 2, they have to pick first for Set 3 player7 < player8 → etc player9 2-1 player10

I feel that it will be hard enough to get people online at the right time to play AT ALL, and thusly it's not wise to make it even more difficult for people with busy schedules. We are not pro gamers who can dedicate all the time in the world to a tourney, I think it will be wisest to allow for as much flexibility as possible. this

If that is the case, we can easily change it to a lineup format. Now please post with more hostility next time. As this is season 1 and more or less a test on how we're running it, I would rather shoot for something that is interesting in terms of format while it is still more or less in the infant stage. As I said above, if it is deemed to be a large problem it will be changed to a lineup format.

You don't need to have all your players online at the same time, that's why teams have the whole week to play out the match. So technically, you only need to have online the two players that are gonna play the set. We know that playing in order can be harder to schedule than simply submitting a lineup, but please bear in mind that we're still experimenting with these details, and we'll adjust them if we conclude they're not the best way to do this. Of course we want the players to be able to fully play the league with the minimum toll on their time as possible, after all this league was made only for the players, but we're also trying to maintain the format as interesting as possible. But let's see how it goes this week.

To throw my 2 cents in, i have a job i work overtime nearly every week, class 3 nights, and a wife (understanding though she is). My fear is that, if i have a paper due, or finals, i may not be able to play my game until friday or saturday, and if im low in the match-ups, i will be potentially holding up 9 other people... who may not be able to play thier game on the weekend. of course a line-up would alleviate that, allowing me to arrange my game with the opponent when we are both available. But it would take away the excitement of the captains choosing the players for the next match as they feel will counter the winner's opponent. --but some of that excitement would be taken away anyway if the rest of the team can't observe (which is understandable, for some obvious reasons) another option, which could be equally unpopular due to scheduling, is a Chobo Team League Night. If a player absolutely could not make a match, there could be a makeup night as well. Considering all youve done so far i have no doubt you will iron out the details in a way that is the most beneficial.
