Something about when a zealot (works with some other units too, I think) is walking beside another unit of similar speed and is trying to get around that unit, the AI speeds up that zealot to get him around. If two zealots are walking beside each other and trying to get around at the same time... viola. I don't know how to reproduce it though. Yeah, that's pretty much what I said, but it's just a guess. I don't really know for sure if that's what happens or not, but if you look at other occurrences of the super-speed glitch, it seems to be the case. What's probably more useful in examining this is looking at times when only one unit goes super-speed, which happens surprisingly often. If you actually just make 2-3 control groups of speedlots and try and clump them up as tightly as possible (but don't spam click), you can see the phenomenon quite easily. One of the zealots on the edge of the clump will zip around trying to get past another zealot so he can get closer to the middle.

The best way that I've seen for reproducing this trick (so far has worked for me with Zealot, Zergling, Hydralisk) is to have 2 groups patrolling into each other. Eventually a collision will happen between two units of opposite groups that will cause this.

But it'd be amazing if someone actually figured out how to consistently do this glitch and it became mainstream. BW would become so broken. Imagine those 2 lurkers that glitched being able to run up the ramp and then sideways into the mineral line LOL

Remind me of lower level pallys where you can force charge the ground and he'll just run at nothing.
