I'm not sure if it's necessary though, any powerlevelling tends to make the game feel way too easy If 1 handed weapons is your part of your main build, you'll get it to 100 easily just playing normally. If you're levelling to 81, then there are better ways to level skills in the lategame.

It breaks the game, but since he wants to play pure archer, having a follower to keep enemies at bay for a while wouldn't break the game if you play it on a high difficulty. Well, I want to do it without using any followers. So far, Steady Hand and Ranger/Quick Shot has made it somewhat easier against small groups and extremely easy against 1v1. It's just groups of 4+ that become more difficult, although you rarely find mobs that size, and if you do, sneaking is probably the best choice.

Race: Dark Elf (Because they are the most assassin-ish) Main Skills: One- handed, Sneak Secondary Skills: Archery, Light Armor, Illusion Playstyle: YOu sneak around, wearing double- daggers. You use Archery whenever it might help you. When you get in a big fight, use Illusion Spells and Light Armor to keep yourself alive! What do you think of this?

This is so going to be my next character, I can't wait for my assassin playthrough and finally do those dark brotherhood and thieves guild quests!!!

havent got a name for it but here goes: main focus: -stealth -archer -light armor secondary focus (only put in as much as you like) -conjuration -one handed personally i only put points in improve bound weapon dmg (in conjuration) and + one handed damage, as well as dual flurry for speed. basically you just shoot people in the face with your arrows from dark places and if the suckers get too close you just summon double blades and make sushi out of those fuckers.. Not sure how viable this build is on high difficulties but it sure as hell is fun!

But I am not sure how much stamina I would need and do assassins really even need it? Thanks! This is what I'm doing currently (first play through). You definitely want a lot of stamina. Zooming in with the bow consumes lots of it. When you get the time slow with zoom in, it makes sniping super fun.

I currently play a Khajit Assassin, focused on Illusion. I started off with the normal archery/sneak/one-handed thief style, then started training illusion on animals while hunting (enraged bunnys make suicidal but harmless pets :D). By now I'm around lvl 35, with illusion mastered and I hardly ever use my bow. Either I sneak up on them invisible and muffled or i simply calm them, so they are fine with me just walking behind them and slitting their throat. If there are several enemys, I like to enrage them and turn invisible, finishing the surviver of the resulting free-for-all with another backstab. Currently I'm training alteration to get paralize and the armor spells and my next goal is to backstab a dragon, but they often rest at safe spots and can hear pretty good and far. I will probably try baiting one out, with a staff I found which summons a dremora. I wonder if that will work. Tough open fights can still be troublesome to me, but its still a lot more interesting to play than my previous sword&shield-mage. And if I'm clever, I can avoid nearly all troublesome situations or defuse them with illusion. I really can recommend playing an illusion character.

I started off upgrading lock picking, light armor, archery, one handed weapons, alchemy, sneaking and speech. My late game was all devoted to smithing, enchanting and pick pocketing. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Perks Speech: My goal here was only to get to the point where I could sell any item to any merchant, I wouldn't need the perk to sell stolen items because I could simply sell those in the theives guild. Total perks: 3/5 haggling + allure + merchant = 5 perks. I eventually get haggling to 5/5 Archery: Basically I'm going to max this category out but I started off by filling out the left side where slow aim, arrows stagger and draw bow faster perks are as well as maxing out the first perk asap. Total perks: 3/5 overdraw + Eagle Eye + 1/2 Steady Hand + 1 Stagger Shot = 6 perks. I save the rest of the perks for later on in the game when I can spare them or get the necessary skill. One Handed: I only upgraded the first perk and the one right above it, archery seems to dominate and my one handed weapons are beast from smithing. Total perks: 1/5 armsman + 1 fighting stance = 2 perks. Light Armor: the main focus here was to get to the perk that allows me to be weightless with a matching set of light armor, I will eventually max out everything. Total perks: 1/5 agile defender + custom fit + Unhindered = 3 perks. I get wind walker asap. Sneaking: I only got the first perk 1/5 and I got up to more damage from bows. There is really no need for the other perks, you can avoid traps if you are careful and I'm sure maxing out the final perks and first perk will eventually be worth it, but not in the early game. Having better archery is much more important and you'll quickly find you are doing enough damage with the bow perk in sneak. Total perks: 1/5 stealth + Muffled Movement + Back Stab + Deadly Aim = 4 perks. Muffled movement helps in pick pocketing. Alchemy: Ok I didn't exactly know what I was doing here so I don't recommend getting alchemy until much later. However, it is very useful and the best perk is the one that increases the strength of potions with added benefits. These multi purpose potions become extremely valuable and I always find lots of ingredients in my travels usually from plants. If you didn't know, you can eat the ingredients which reveals the first effect of a plant and allows you to make potions easier. With speech upgraded and a few alchemy perks I can sell some potions that are made from two common ingredients for over 200 gold. Total perks: 1/5 alchemist + physician + benefactor = 3 perks. Benefactor is the one you want to make baller potions Lock picking: this was an easy decision for me, I wanted the 50% chance of finding greater treasure. It takes quite awhile to obtain but it's entirely worth it, I also got golden touch which grants me more gold as well. These perks basically mean you get better things from all loot including chests, animals, people, monsters, dragons but unfortunately NOT barrels or sacks. I was able to get 2 silver rings from a deer, granted silver rings aren't worth much but a friggin deer! Total Perks: Novice Locks + Apprentice Locks + Quick Hands = 3 perks. Quick hands is something you want asap as it will allow you to get anywhere without being noticed. I get adept locks, golden touch and treasure hunter as soon as I get the needed skill. After about level 20 I started working on smithing and around level 35 I started on enchanting. Smithing: I went for light armor and also have thief armor so I got the magical perk and the entire left side up to dragon armor. Unfortunately I thought after getting dragon armor that daedric armor would unlock but that is not the case, so I'm not even going to bother unlocking the heavy armor just to get daedric bows (if they exist). The most beneficial thing to smithing is that once you reach level 100, you can make every magical item (at least for thieves armor and dark brotherhood armor) flawless and every other item, including dragon armor legendary. You can also make every weapon legendary as far as I know which is insane because to upgrade an weapon from nothing to legendary requires only 1 ingot of it's kind and requires 1 leather or ingot for armor. While you are upgrading your smithing to 100 you will notice there are multiple levels below legendary and each level will require a new leather or ingot until you get to 100 to where it only takes 1 misc item to upgrade a weapon or armor. Total perks: not gonna add em up but it's 6 in total. The best way to level smithing is to keep all your ingots, use all your animal hides on tanning racks to build up leather and buy ores if you can spare the money because ores are cheaper than ingots. Then simply forge as many iron daggers and leather boots or leather gloves as you can as they require the least amount of materials and you gain an equal amount of skill per item created. It's not worth it to create chest plate armors unless you actually want that armor for yourself. I just stuck with thieves armor until I got all the way to dragon and I'm still using thief until I max out the first enchanting perk to 5/5 so that I can create even better gear. Enchanting: This was like the hidden category I didn't find out about until level 30 when I decided that the weapons I use needed soul gems so I got the perks that gave 5% recharge back to my weapons. But I realized that, that perk isn't nearly as useful as upgrading the first perk to 5/5 which gives you 100% greater enchantments. You might have thief armor that gives 15% better sneaking, well at 5/5 and with a grand soul gem you can create armor with over 30% better sneaking. Make sure you ALSO get the perk above, that gives you 25% greater enchanting on armor, makes a world of difference. I am working towards the final perk which will allow two enchantments per item which is going to make my armor absolutely insane. Total perks: 5/5 enchanter + Soul Squeezer + Soul Siphon + Insightful Enchanter + Corpus Enchanter + Extra Effect = 10 perks Best way to level this is by disenchanting every item you come across, use soul gems frequently on your weapons and enchant cheap weapons/armor that you make from smithing and any weapon/armor you loot(also makes them more valuable). Keep a few items that are worthwhile like Linwes Armor (if you got it) until you eventually get the perks you want in enchanting to create something better. Pick Pocketing: I decided to go for this perk later because it's usefulness was out weighed heavily by archery, lock picking and sneaking in the early game. The best perk by far is the one that gives you 100 more carry weight. I also got cutpurse which makes stealing gold much easier, and there are some npcs with a lot of gold. Total perks: 1/5 Light fingers + Night Thief + Cut Purse + Extra Pockets = 4 perks I leveled this one fast by buying it from the thieves guild (at this point I was so rich from selling potions and enchanted items that I could afford to constantly level this). I legitly leveled this skill by taking constant pick pocketing jobs from the thieves guild. Every pick pocketing quest gives you at least 1 level in pick pocketing and since these quests are unlimited you can keep doing these forever. Also the benefit of taking these constant jobs is that eventually you gain leverage in other towns (yes, doing side quests in the thieves guild actually pays off) and you get more merchants in the sewers. I also plan on upping conjuration for more bound weapon damage in the next set of levels but I need to figure out a quick way to level this skill. So right now I'm rolling: lvl 49 HP: ~380 Stamina: ~300 Magika: ~110 Gear: Flawless Linwes armor (~+20% better archery, ~15% better sneaking, ~15% better one handed, ~15% better something... i forgot >_< Weapon: Legendary glass bow (chance to paralyze target for 2 seconds), legendary glass bow (if target is killed within 15 seconds, fills a soul gem), legendary glass dagger, legendary dragon scale shield (+30% magic resistance) Stone: Lovers stone, grants 15% increase in all skills. I plan on changing to shadow stone or something else after I'm done getting all the skills I need. The paralyze bow is perfect in dungeons, and makes being stealthy easier as they can't detect you further while paralyzed. The bow that fills soul gems is only for monsters, it doesn't work on humans or dragons. The glass dagger that has no enchantment is for my favorite shout ability which is called Elemental Furry or something, and increases elemental damage but makes your attacks SUPER EFFING fast, I kill dragons so quickly with my dagger it ain't even funny.
