Since cats are the "official pet of the internet", I'd like to present you all with a story about two of my own, plus a picture of them when they were babies. First off the picture!

Phoebe (black) on the left, Tobias (siamese - not purebred) on the right. This was back when they were teeny-tiny kittens. All my friends loved them; and still do! I can't believe this was the only picture I uploaded. I took so many back then. Why? Because kittens are cute. =^.^= They're four years old now, and not so teeny-tiny.
I got them both from the shelter where I work; originally we were going to adopt two older tabby Maine Coon cats, a brother and sister pair named Mario and Natasha. However when I went to visit these kittens, Tobias mistook me for his mom. (We had to take them away from their parents and raise them by hand because their parents were both sick - the parents lived and were both adopted too but you know how a cold can kill a newborn baby; that's why we did what we did.) I couldn't pass that up, so I had to keep him. I didn't want to take him away from his littermates though, so we also took Phoebe, the runt of the litter. Back then I could hold one in each hand and Phoebe had the prettiest blue eyes! Her eyes are yellow now though. She's a true Halloween cat. And also fat. XD
Phoebe is such a lap cat now. Everyone who comes to the house wants to take her home. But, she's such a beggar!! Anytime someone goes into the kitchen, SHE'S THERE! She'll eat anything; it's crazy~ But she's so sweet it's hard to hold it against her. Except for the time she stole a chicken wing right off my plate out from under my nose and ran into the basement with it...
Tobias thinks he's a human. I kid you not, when I'm just lying on my bed, he will jump up, get under the covers, then turn around and lay there with his head on the pillow. He's also been known to sit at the kitchen table with his little paws on the rim. He's not very smart, but is quite mellow and well-behaved. He's a certified therapy cat too; he walks on a harness and I take him out to the children's hospital quite often. He's always a hit; color-point cats are so popular...
(No, that's not me in that picture; that's one of my friends holding them.)

Whoa! Just had to stare at that picture for like 5 minutes to see what was going on, I thought they were in some sort of vase and climbing out of the top on both sides. I thought that the hair was hanging down in front of the camera.
Now that I can see it's someone holding them, cool cats ^^

My parents' cat has 3 kittens, gonna have to give them away soon, sad times. Here they are 2 weeks ago:

The sleek black one is a boy, the one with a white belly/boots and the gray one are girls. The gray one is the most adventurous, loves running everywhere and meeting new people. The pure black one is terrified of everything and shivers a lot when near strangers, poor thing got picked up by one of their dogs and carried (in its mouth) across the house. The dog didn't mean any harm and didn't hurt it, but I'm sure that wasn't fun and the poor kitten thought it was about to be somebody's meal. Everyone loves boots' fur pattern so she gets lots of attention and is getting to be a bit snobby because of it.

Adorable!! I'd love to take them. I love kitties. As you can tell. Ah...you are going to get the parents fixed though, right...? (It's a thing of mine; I see way too many unwanted litters because of where I work and...-shudder-...horror stories.)

Aww... It's so sad to see them go... I hope they have a good life with their new family!

Yes actually; the organization he is affiliated with does have a test of sorts. They have to make sure he won't jump around and break anything or bite or scratch the kids if he gets scared; etc. But he's really laid-back so he passed easily. ^^ It's great because most therapy animals are dogs; I was really glad to find an organization for cats~
