switched into marines and rolled his chargelot+stalker+immortal+VR army(can anyone see something wrong with this? )
I just love it when terran tier 1 rolls protoss tier 2. Then again immortals and VR suck against marines.

How many plats were you beating and stuff? I've been struggling to break the barrier at the top of my div for weeks, with a 50/50 platinum beating ratio. and beating most golds. but whenever I lose to a plat i'm like FUCK THAT COULDVE BEEN MY PROMOTION GAME.

I assume the answer you are looking for on the other question is the scan after 2/3 of his actual army had already been killed, which allowed you to kill his last 3 colossi... Honestly the real reason you won the battle is that his hallucinated colossi blocked his own colossi from attacking, let alone getting the proper angle. Had he immortal focused your thors and FF'd your maruaders after the thors were down, you would have lost the battle.
Edit: The correct answer to your 'what is wrong with this picture' is actually nothing. Marines are the best unit in your arsenal against both voids and immortals. The voids can't get charged up, and the immortal hardened shield mechanic makes their shields evaporate to fast attacking units, not to mention they are meant to focus armored units. Also, you were 3:3 vs 2:1:1 protoss... it doesn't even matter what the protoss composition is. They're going to die if they are that far behind in upgrades.
At one point in the game you were actually 3:3 bio and 1:3 ground mech while the protoss was on 1:0:0.

^^Making less mistakes than your opponent, definition of SCII to an extent Yes, the answer I was looking for was that he hallucinated all those colossi, so I used my scans to find out the real ones and started targetting them down with vikings. I might've lost that battle had he targetted but, I wasn't too worried because only the immortals were a cause for concern since I had an armored army. Even then, he only had 4 I think and the rest were stalkers+sentries+colossi which isn't that scary once you take the colossi out

I think around 30 games and was winning >50%. I too thought it was bizzare and was taking too long but I hopped on today for a game, won and got promoted. I'll check my match history to see if I can find how long it's been since I started playing Plats, but, I'm somewhat positive it was around 30 games ago or so because I went on a 5 game win streak then started playing Plat and went on win/lose streaks from there XD I'll tell you it's tough because there is no way to check if you are close or not. Just keep at it and once you start only facing Plats like in my case, you'll know that you're pretty close. GL

At one point in the game you were actually 3:3 bio and 1:3 ground mech while the protoss was on 1:0:0. Actually what was wrong with it, was that his composition was all around bad for marines. That's what I was looking for, but, you're right. If he re-added colossi back in instead of VRs, he would've taken that third engagement imo and might've even won the game then and there. I did keep watching his composition throughout the game using scans though(blame BW for making me forget about mules O_o). You're also correct that I had the upper hand in upgrading and such. I went for fast upgrades since I start banking money when my exp is saturated and I wanted to put it to good use

Upgraded zeal/stalker eats marines up.

It honestly did not occur to me that the collossi were fake I'd have done a gg right there when I saw it :D
Congrats on your promotion. Now you have 3 leagues left to get promoted too!

Maybe with no medivacs and non stimmed marines but stimmed marine eat zealots alive especially if you kite them(talking about normal zealots). Even if we were on similar upgrades, I think bio eats gateway units and I'm confident that I'm not alone in that thought. That and I would've mixed in some marauders anyways and started to once he had hts out towards the end but was at 200/200 supply.

Now you have 3 leagues left to get promoted too! hehe, I never gg until my opponent is in my base with a decent army left. Given, I think Idra would've gg'd to that XD As an example, I played a TvsT also on Altar about 15 games back. I went bio against a mech army. I managed to take out a decent portion of my opponent's army as he attacked my base(he had ~25 BFH and 7+ thors) but he had 4 thors left, 2 full hp, 2 red hp. I still kept making units, tanks, banshees, MM, etc.... and was able to eventually take them out after he destroyed my exp. I targetted the 2 red thors with my banshees then used a tank that just came out with some MM, etc.... and focus fired. Even though I lost my exp, still had a third up and all my structures intact. Did I mention I sent 6 cloaked banshees to his base to tear it up as he engaged my army so his main with all the structures was gone
Yes, 3 more leagues! It would be funny if I make GM but I don't play enough to make it. I find that when I start dedicating time to the game and grind a bit, I get promoted XD Of course, hard work pays off imo

My guess is, he wanted me to a) freak out and b) target the colossi with my vikings so that by the time I take them all out, his colossi would've helped his ground army to defeat mine. It didn't exactly work because I saw the hallucinations as he did them, also knew that he only had 5-6 colossi when he moved out and I had some energy left in my cc since I kept forgetting to mule and just scanned and shift attacked my vikings. I even did it 2-3 more times to double check I got them all because there were so many XD
Thanks, I was random in S2. Loved it, but, I found that I barely got to play my fav MU(TvsZ) so I decided that its best I go Terran this season to get a more micro oriented race and get familiar with their macro since they were my weakest. I think now, T is my strongest XD I agree, gold league was a pretty good league. I wasn't in it as much as Silver but still enjoyed it. You get some macro games, some cheeses, all-ins, etc.... but rarely any BM.
