EG.Mascot? agreed, he was pretty mediocre in the bw foreign scene as well yeah a lot of mediocre players won WCG usa yeah such a competitive country Yea, its like we didnt have Idra, Nony, or Day9, Draco, etc. Northern Ireland produces way better players, you deserve a quality poster icon. draco is polish, and day9 didn't even compete in wcg 09, and incontrol just lurkling all in'd everyone northern ireland is also far smaller than the US, thanks for trying champ That doesn't change the fact that US has a shit ton of good players and Incontrol beat alot of them. All-in is a tactic, a win is a win even if it is a cheesy win if he was good at bw he wouldn't have done mass ling allin timing attacks every single game, obviously he will eventually benefit from coinflips some time but you obviously don't know anything about BW if you call draco american rofl, good ole fanboys :p Idra allined MC 3 times, does that make him a horrible player with no skill? obviously not because we know idra can play a real game everyone knows incontrol was cheesy in BW
So, INcontrol never played a legit game? I highly doubt he cheesed every single game. (I wouldn't know, i never found the amazing game of BW)

of course he did, it's called hyperbole, he was still bad at macro otherwise he would have done that more than just risky 2 base lurkling all ins and random mass ling attacks. This wasn't SC2 where playing safe/macro style isn't extremely rewarding... being cheesy means you play abusive/cheesy a lot more than you should
winning wcg usa doesn't automatically make him not mediocre, comparing him to idra or nony is laughable and a complete insult to them tbh, not like idra was even good in 2007 so incontrol didn't even beat anyone good on the way to the finals
please don't talk if you don't know anything

too be honest glad you left nasl geoff, was getting worried there for a second and with a 4th place at MLG means you are close to your goal of winning a tournament in sc2.
|
Im glad you did this incontrol I loved your casting but you always said you wanted to play more and you should do what you want the most. Hope i se you at dreamhack winter 2011!
|
incontrol is fun to listen to as a caster, but that was a very logical step he took. he needs to not fall behind in training, especially if the sc2 volve evolves further - you dont wanna get stuck on a casting seat than rather be a pro gamer
|
Aww too bad. Its nice to see that he's continuing to take playing more and more seriously
|
That's perfect for me! I loved Inc in Sotg and love him while talking at Itg and playing + I'll watch nasl regardless who the casters are.
Gl Geoff! Time to own some newbs.

Good luck, iNc! It was great to watch/listen to you cast NASL S1!
|
Its clear to me that you cant sit on one of the richest and best-run teams in the West and spend your life courting controversy without results to back it up.
We dont know (?) if he quit because NASL is a huge failure given what it was supposed to be (Competition for GSL lol..), and he just wants off a sinking ship, or if his team want him to actually play the starcraft he is payed for - but it seems a situation of trying to juggle too many balls and ending up dropping them all.
|
I really like incontrol and because of that I'm glad that he left NASL. Not because I don't like nasl - the opposite is true - but I want to see him compete at the highest level. And with NASL as a fulltime job and all the other stuff I can only guess he didn't have enough time to practise. Also moving to the EG house can only be good.
so incontrol: keep on going, looking forward for your next tournaments!

Grats to incontrol. His stream is one of the few I watch consistently (his and Select's, whenever he streams)
|
Good Luck inControl. I hope I still get to hear your wit on streams sometimes :D

I might consider tuning in, maybe. In it's current form, with the current casters? Not a chance. It's flat and lifeless.

I like this move because it's a commitment to one thing. Either make NASL work or make pro playing work. It doesn't make sense to be mediocre at both. It's right decision by EG to force the issue. And considering the disappointing preliminary feedback for NASL so spending more time as a player would appear to be the smarter choice. I might just be moving with the crowd on NASL, but it doesn't appear to have that great of an organization considering its supposed prize pool and hype. I hope to see better from NASL, EG, and inControl. Best of luck to all individuals and organizations.

I'm glad he won't be there Season 2. Not because he was bad or anything, but so he can focus more on playing. I'd like to see Gretorp follow and let some other popular casters get the job.
