hey guys
I'm a total newbie to competitive starcraft. I got into it recently when my mate introduced me to the TSL and i found it really interesting and started watching other vods. I've decided to start playing on ICC but got a mean shock when i found everyone was owning me O.o. can anyone suggest some not particular micro intensive, but solid build orders i can use for terran?
Also, im probably going to get roasted for this one, but when people say like "4 pool" or "12 hatch" what are they referring to? does it mean when your supply is at that or when you have that many workers or does it have somthing to do with where they build it?

Making 2 threads at once with the same content is a sure way to get flamed  . It was probably an accident but still...
Yes, builds with numbers in them usually refer to your supply when you get the building, except for things like "2gate" or "2rax", which clearly indicates the amount of early rax/gate you get. 4pool is getting a pool when you have 4 supply. That's right, not even making a drone. Mining until 200 minerals, spawning pool, then lings. Ezpz.
I can't give you a list of BO's for Terran, and generally speaking, all Terran builds require a lot more multitasking and micro. That's just how Terran works. I have some commentated FPvods for newer (Terran) players that you can check out. Past that, you're very new, and the best thing I can suggest is replays, practice and tutorial/fpvods.

please make it so people who post like newbs in the strat forum get a temp ban or at least a warning or something. like dancecommander said you might be an SC noob but there a rules to prevent you from being a TL noob.

I learned a lot from watching fpvods and mass gaming. Also obsing games is a good way to learn build orders and strategy in general.

fac = factory
cc = command center
bay = engineering bay

some less common used ones and common sense ones but:
siege = siege mode
goli/gol = goliath
ebay = engineering bay(as well as bay)
stim = stimpack
turret = missile turret
depo/depot = supply depot
bunk = bunker
bc = battlecruiser
ld = lockdown
med = medic
fb = firebat
rine = marine
MnM = Marines n' Medics
metal/mech = common tank vult combo (usually, sometimes gols, etc)

Yeah, I agree with this one...
even after reading stuff about how to play StarCraft, you shouldn't be waay confident that you will own everyone else. Just post reps here and we will be more than happy to help you out with it.
