No non-Chinese qualifiers? No chance to defend the title for Stats? I was really looking forward to another season of Kung Fu Cup but this won't do. It's a big step down from previous Kung Fu Cups and that makes me sad.

But... but.. It's a Chinese event! It's clearly missing Snute!

The previous KFCs were very clear failures in terms of Chinese player live tournament experience/training because the majority of them crash out of group stage, plus the top Koreans will be busy preparing for Blizzcon, hard to find invites.
Regarding non-Chinese qualifier, it is has been hard for Chinese players to have consistent connection while playing European players so they want to keep that to a minimum. Nothing against the EU guys which have been amazing to work with, just logistic reasons.

Last year around this time there was also a Kung Fu Cup happening before Blizzcon. 3 Blizzcon participants played the Cup, the champion was the eventual runner-up of Blizzcon. And he was not an invite but rather went through the Korean qualifier. I'm sure it wouldn't have been impossible to get strong Koreans.
Of course, I realize I'm not forced to watch if I find the lineup so terribly uninteresting, but I would have liked to be interested so I'm giving feedback.

I'm not involved with line up selection this time but I think there intention is more towards letting Chinese playing more in an tournament environment. Tbh in the past seasons our players has been disappointing, if this kind of welfare line up still do nothing I'm not even sure whether there will be another KFC in a while. Or maybe they'll revert back to the old format favoring more quality players, not a Chinese training ground.

Thread has been updated with new schedule to avoid conflicts with Kespa Cup.

RIP KT's domination of KFC.

Doesnt make sense for me
The prize money can run a tons of Douyu/Leifeng Cups. For " training Chinese players" ,playing a tons of matches is much better than just playing one tournament with huge prize .
The old KFCs gave a wonderful lineup, a wonderful prize money and just get us wrong: we are not running the best online tournament, we just help Chinese players practice?

no top koreans invited this time, that makes me very sad

PRC vs Welfare Circuit, who will win?

|
What is it with tournaments and not letting Koreans play recently

Kelazhur is unable to play and has been replaced by Masa.
And for the next installments, KFC will return to a full blown high-quality first tournament, which means top koreans and top foreigners.
