Hi, I'm Nick Brock, and my ID is

In ZvZ, I find myself committing to aggression, constantly attacking several points and out-multitasking my opponents. I mostly use upgrade-heavy Ling styles with a blatant disregard for tech, as I find Roach/Hydra styles to be largely inefficient without using Nydus, Drops, other means of supporting that composition.

Creating a weakness, then exploiting it.
I feel like being the aggressor is the key focus of my ZvZ, taxing my opponent’s APM, imposing your will on them, and forcing them to make mistakes (a method inspired by Liquid.TLO). I’m confident enough in my mechanics that keeping my opponent on the back foot can create leads and advantages where I wouldn’t normally have one. Upgraded lings are the best way for me to take advantage of that strength in my style.

ZvT has felt like my strongest matchup for a while, and also happens to be the matchup I play closest to standard in. I consistently find openings that have me ending games near the mid-20-minute mark. In extreme late-game situations, I go back to my roots with multi-pronged aggression and exposing the weaknesses I create. This facet of my play is inspired by my experiences watching Brood War.
I tend to favor a standard gasless opener, into a Muta/Ling/Bane mid-game style. And, where most players find themselves transitioning to Infestor/Ultra, I hit hard and fast and attempt to end the game.

Being attacked from all angles by at LEAST 24 Swarm Hosts.
When Mech happens, I’m more than comfortable transitioning into Host/Roach/Hydra, and I’m able to get away with this a lot better because of how much my creep spread has improved recently. Map control is still one of the facets I’m working the hardest on improving, and I feel like it’s coming along nicely. I also really love playing in hyper-late-game situations, because it’s when I’m the most free to think outside the box for solutions to problems.

ZvP is the matchup I feel like I really need to get creative in, so a lot of what you see here is how I currently play -- experimental, moderately goofy, and unorthodox. I’m not entirely comfortable on the back foot right now, but it’s coming along, and when I do manage to defend it tends to be explosive and scrappy.
Versus Protoss is one of the matchups I experiment in the most, ranging from proxy hatches to nydus play, and even standardish aggressive roach styles

Making myself at home in his home
I work with everything from proxy hatches, to Nydus all-ins, to closer-to-standard roach-max pushes. My goal vP is to overwhelm and contain the Protoss and force them to deal with me, and catch them off-guard. Keeping a level head is key to making this style work, because any small mistake can unravel the entire plan. But if it works, it keeps them on the back foot. High risk, high reward!
There's 15 replays in this pack. 7 ZvP, 4 ZvT, and 4 ZvZ. I've been hitting a lot of Protoss on ladder as of late, which is unfortunate because ZvT is my favorite matchup, and ZvZ is the one I want to work on the most. Still, every replay is from the current patch (2.0.12) and should fit fairly well into the current meta.
The vast majority of these games should be vs other high-Master or GM-level players on ranked NA ladder. All replays are labeled with a rough description of the game/builds as well as the match-up. I made it a point to include a variety of different strategies and situations, so hopefully there will be something for everyone!
Now that I have functioning internet again, I've been streaming for a few hours each day. I appreciate any feedback or input on my strategies, style, reactions, or anything within a more narrow or wide scope.
Also, please support me, and my team, Clarity Gaming!
