I've looked for a thread on this game and I've failed to find one.
'Soccermanager is first and foremost a free to play textbased soccermanager game, there are multiple gameworlds of different types, world, european, english championship, custom etc.
The match days are simulated by the games engine, based on team tactics, player fitness, player/team ratings, morale, formation etc. You can get the result, or get a play by play match report. There are league games on wednesdays and saturdays, mondays are cup games and tuesdays are like champions league cup type (but thats for gold members)
Player ratings are based off real life. Players achievements and form will have the players rating changes a few times a year depending on the level of their league. The five major leagues maybe 2/3 times a year. Players also get injured, have concerns about play time etc.
I've played this game since 2009 and I've made all kinds of teams from all players from one nation, all youth under 20 year's old and watch their ratings increase as they gain playtime in real life. It's not hard to log on once a day to exchange players or change your tactics.

If you have any questions about the game, feel free to ask here.
For those who play this game or are willing to give it a try, I would be willing to pay for a custom world at a later date if their is enough interest.
Something like, all starting with 250million and a blank squad, choosing a team with a stadium capacity average of say 25,000.

Wait why not just get football manager, it's professionally made and very polished.
|
I wouldn't even call it a peak time of the day for Europeans.
Managers: 712,465 Online: 14,954 Managed Clubs: 1,249,827
Obviously these numbers don't mean anything, but it's a good number of people playing it. It's a more laid back option, trading with real managers, playing the match days on fixed days. You don't need to put that much time into it.

Looks like a simplified version of football manager, very fun. Too bad it doesn't support playing on the phone too much. How is everyone setting up their tactics?
|
yeah the phone is quite difficult to nativate, but simply to check results or any new club messages, satisfys cusriousity.
I believe everyone has different reasons to play, many like to find the next youth starlet that will rise from 75 rating into the 90's over the years. I personally enjoy seeing them change ratings.
There are many formations and they counter each other. Tactics such as playermaker, target man, tackling aggression, speed of play, passing style, counter attacking, men behind ball etc
The forum there is quite active aswell in all aspects of football and the game.

so can you actually give a reason why not football manager lol?

Personally I micromanage everything and watch games in full in football manager and a couple of games can take up almost your whole day. I can see why a simplified, text-based version will work.
