About last year's YSL and My Mission
First off, props to Ninazerg for the amazing tour last year. It takes guts, moxy, and a lot of time to do this and my gratitude for the initial YSL is enormous. I am no way, shape, form, or fashion trying to discredit that league. I LOVED the first YSL. Why do you guys think I am eager to adopt the name? It's just so perfect for a C-Ranks league. Kudos as well to Noise and the ASL last year. I hope more ASL's with bigger prize pools emerge. My vision for the YSL is simple: A tour that happens at least 4 times a year, built to keep the spirit of competition going in the C-Ranks community and encourage D-Ranks players to play their hearts out and reach C- so they too can bask in the moment. I am calling this "Season One" because I personally feel like it should be. If you're a comic book fan you'll understand this comparison. I see last years YSL as "Issue Zero" for the YSL series. "Issue Number Zero" is probably and most always the rarest and most kickass of the comic book series, so that is a high prestige. I am claiming the "Season One" title because this is a clear reboot, with a new format, new system, new prizes, and a planned regularity that will seed semi-finalists each time. I hope my mission is clear. I really just want to be more involved with TL, and the C-Ranks kiddos desperately need some inspiration to play and excel! I decided to launch this whole tournament series because I was gifted TL+ for being a BW fan. It reminded me of the amazing nights I spent watching Nation Wars, the YSL, ASL, and GC while hoping that TL would do something awesome for BW, and they did when they launched the TLS. I wanted to give something back while also helping out TL in any small way I could, so I decided to encourage the spirit of competition within the C-Ranks community while also ensuring that TeamLiquid and the winners benefit from all of this. I love BW, and I learned from my past mistakes as an organizer. Instead of promising hookers, coke, cash, fame, and glory, I'm keeping it simple with each of these tours. The prizes may not be that sexy, but hey I'm only promising to do what I can. Who knows? Maybe some glorious sponsor and donor will give us a heap of cash to divvy out to C-Ranks champions some day, but for right now I'm amazingly happy just setting up 4 or 5 Yellow Starleagues a year that give out cool TeamLiquis prizes. In future tournaments prizes may include year-long memberships, T-Shirts, Posters, and much more! The important thing is not the prize pool, but making sure that C-Ranks players have a Starleague they feel is truly their own, and one that comes around plenty of times a year. Long live BW, and long live the YSL!

Single-Elimination Tournament.

Semi-Finals and Finals- Bo5
There will be 8 "groups" of 4 players. Each group winner will advance to the Ro8. Groups will be drawn separately. Each group winner advances to the Ro8. Group letters will be drawn and seeded into the Ro8 Bracket the same night groups are drawn. The draw will be broadcast live (I hope, if not it will be posted in VOD form).
This is an original format, and I hope it is not too confusing. Come time for group selection you will understand better! Just know that the tournament is single elimination.

In the future, all semi-finalists will be seeded into one of the four Ro16 groups. The YSL will be open to the first 48 players who sign up. These will be divided up into 12 groups of 4, with each group winner advancing to the Ro16.
RULES
-For current or former C-Rank players who have had a max rank of no greater than C+ and have at least hit a max of C-. If you are D+ and have never been a C-Rank max, you are ineligible for the YSL. If you have had a max of B- and it wasn't for some fleeting moment of BW greatness, you are ineligible for the YSL. Any violation of this rule will result in immediate ban from this and all subsequent YSL's. If you are a D+ player who has consistently won D-Ranks events/tours and have often flirted with C- you can feel free to give it a shot. Don't sign up if you're consistently knocked out of the DRIT Ro32.
-No excessive BMing
-Race-picking is allowed. All players must declare their race before the match is played and may not change their race during any Bo3 or Bo5 series. Random is allowed, but if a player chooses random they must choose random for all games in a Bo3 or Bo5 series.
-All matches must be played on ICCup. Use the Anti-Hack Launcher.
-Failure to show up for matches or to make an attempt to schedule at a reasonable time for a player's opponent will result in DQ from the current YSL.
-Follow all map-orders
-Do not harass other players, casters, or administrators in the YSL forum. This will result in DQ from the current YSL.
