This is another Broodwarport from this map: http://i.imgur.com/c207Dkj.jpg I dont know the name of this map or who made it but anyways, credits to him.
I tried to get as close to the Jungle Tileset as possible and i think it turned out pretty cool, i love the white skeletons
The Overview is kinda ugly but it looks better from the ingame view. Also i used this name before but that was like 3 years ago and no one cares for that map anways^^

Eh? This is my map.. o.o! I like it.
Reapers could be a pain.

Very cool aesthetics. Nice design crystaldrag. :D
I think for SC2 the ramp at the 4th base with rocks should definitely be like... 3x. Otherwise it's super easy to defend 3.75 bases, the only real danger being drops in the main, and that is not that bad considering we've seen people defend drops fine on a map like Daybreak with similar exposure. I think this would also pull people up to the wide path where it loops around into the middle, which is kind of the point of the map.
Mereel you're on a roll.

Woah really cool map! I love it.
|
Why aren't the middle bases 8m2g? It's a full base in the BW version and seems completely worth it for sc2. Perhaps concerns about a forward planetary fortress? But it's a far 4th or a 5th base...

Dammit meerel why are your maps so sexy.

I kinda disagree w/ some of the choices (middle expos being 8m1g, full third being easier to defend than the partial third) but the aesthetics are super cute and the terrain looks fun, esp. the main/nat setup
|
With two 8m1g base per side I feel like there is one base missing

Wow, this is a great map. BW maps seem more viable now in HotS than they ever were in WoL.
I don't feel like the destructible rocks are necessary by the third ramp. It's already a 1x ramp, I don't see why it should also have rocks.
I like the path around the natural into the main, that's a very clever set up. I hope that defending the natural choke, which is on equal ground as the main, and that ramp doesn't prove too difficult.

Can't say how it works for HotS, but after having played a couple of Starbow games on it, I gotta say that I love this map, awesome job :D

Don't really agree with the fact that you are unable to forge FE on this map, if you added rocks or something to the ramp then I could see it working though.

So let me get this straight, you don't agree with a strategy which pretty much everyone agrees bores the game up, leads to little interaction between players, and isn't needed for balance isn't possible on a map?
I thought the job of mappers was to eliminate such strategies from the game or at least severely discourage them. Not change the concept of a map to suit them?

1 base play lets goooo :D

There are more ways to expand than forge FE. Gateway expands have been extremely popular lately and thank god because they generate more interaction than a pylon block in the first 9 minutes of the game.

There are no "more ways", there is exactly one more way to play, which is 1-gateway expand with slight modifications depending mainly on your level of greed and courage. Everything else is utter rubbish, particularly on a 140s nat-nat map And that is a problem - this map eliminates the possibility of a FFE, so the Zerg knows you are going to 1-gate FE before he starts his first drone. I am not a very big fan of FFE, but the whole possibility of it makes 1-gate FE stronger.

Nonsense, in PvZ you can do forge expand, 1 gas gateway expand pressure, 2gas gateway expand, oracle expand, 2gate stalker pressure expand, dt expand.

i think he meant on this specific map :-P

Is there any reason you can't do all those strats on that specific map?

part of the strength of 1 gate FE vs zerg is your opponent never being 100% sure if you are going for that or the forge expand. This takes 100% of the guesswork away and allows zerg to abuse that type of play a lot easier, the map isn't balanced this way.
