Hopefully this can become a thread were people can discuss and come up with new ideas and nice concepts.
-----Zerg-----
Brood Extension (Upgrade) (Zerg)
An Hive tech upgrade that allows the zerg player to have an additional 10% supply (i.e. 220)
Swarm Host (Unit) (Zerg)
The Swarm Host shoots a long-range missile at a relatively slow speed that damages and slows enemy units.
The Swarm Host generates larva in his back that can be used to train additional units.
Queens can inject the Swarm Host for extra larva production.
Another option would be allowing spine crawlers and spores to attach to the Swarm Host’s back.
Swarm Host II (Unit) (Zerg)
The Swarm Host can be loaded with up to five Zerglings or Banelings. These units can then be launched. If you used banelings it would make him work a bit like the Siege Onager in AoE2. This ability can also be used to throw units to high ground (if there is vision of course).
The Swarm Host could receives the following abilities:
- Launch Creep Tumors or Creep that could slow enemy units.
- The Parasite ability (equal to SC1)
Roach Evolution (Unit) (Zerg)
This unit would be an evolution to the Roach available at Lair tech. A roach could be morphed into a bulkier unit with a little more HP and a slight attack upgrade. The evolved roach would be able to devour one light biological unit at a time. This would work just like WC3’s devour; the unit would then take some time to digest. For every digested unit the evolved roach would acquire 5 additional HP.
-----Terran-----
Heavy Viking (Upgrade) (Terran)
This upgrade would be available in the Armory and it would improve the Viking’s HP and attack damage.
Goliath Protocol (Upgrade)(Terran)
Avaliable in the Armory. Allows Vikings in ground/assault mode to also attack air.
Orbital Outpost (Building/Upgrade) (Terran)
This would be a third option to upgrade a Command Center. The Orbital Outpost would provide the following abilities:
- Call-down a 3 marines squad (100 energy)
- Call-down Spider Mine (100 energy)
- Call-down / Drop an Automatic Turret on top of a Bunker (see WoL Campaign) or Supply Depot. (75 energy)
Warhound and Thor (Unit) (Terran)
In my opinion, there’s a simple solution.
Make the Warhound similar to the BW Goliath. That’s will do the job.
Give the Haywire Missile ability to the Thor and make it researchable at the Armory.
-----Protoss-----
Photon Cannon Upgrade (Upgrade) (Protoss)
Improves the Shield, HP and attack damage of Photon Cannons. It allows Photon Cannons to be chrono-boosted for higher dps. Requires Robotics Bay.
Oracle (Unit) (Protoss)
The Oracle loses the Entomb and Cloak abilities. It receives an Air to Ground basic attack so that it can meaningfully fulfil his harassment role.
The Oracle gains the following abilities:
-Recharge: Recharges the shields of other units.
-Bombard: Launches a projectile that deals AoE damage.
Oracle II (Unit) (Protoss)
The Oracle loses the Entomb and Cloak abilities.
The Oracle can switch to a robotic ground mode that deals extra damage against light units.
Another crazy alternative:
The Oracle can permanently merge with a Stalker and create an Elite Stalker (this name is just an example). This new unit would have the combined shield and HP of both units and a more powerful attack. Maybe bonus versus light and armored.
