Previously we was able to customize animated space background in Battle.Net menu, picture at Battle.net screens, Stronger Team Color mod, and other small customizations, that changed graphic in game a bit.
Now, this time, we're trying to start and try modify ingame UI. And now we have 2 ways to modify it: custom made overlay program and recolored textures. First way is a similar to Xplit, that adds overlay, so you can see a lot different bottombars at many streams. But "UI changer" allows to do that for yourself, not for viewers only! Also, with your Photoshop or designer skills, now YOU can draw your interface!

Such changes are not allowed in the game from us, even with only a change in the graphical interface of the game.
Using this kind of customization is considered as use of external software and can take actions on your account.
You can use this program, but do it at your own risk and we are not liable for further action on your Starcraft II account.
Similar to overlay function, that many streamers using via Xplit, this very small programm (made by Anton_K) allows you to modify ingame UI without altering or modifying ingame resources! You must change your StarCraft 2 to Fullscreen (Windowed) mode and it will work properly.
How it looks ingame with some new skins, like new Terran one or Zerg from topic "BroodWar Zerg UI skin".

How it works
After launching program, you will see small SCII icon. Right-clicking it opens menu, where you can select skin. Just select any transparent PNG file and it will show that picture over all windows.
SC2 UI Changer supports some hotkeys
Ctrl+Alt+S - select skin window. Opens window, where you can select any skin via Explorer
Ctrl+Alt+A - activate/deactivate skin overlay
System requirements:
- Windows XP SP2 or later (tested on Windows 7)
- If you have an error when launching, install this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
- Minimum size of image is 1024x768
Known issues
- Sometimes when you're alt-tabing, skin can dissapear. This bug can be fixed by turning skin on/off

Theoretically this programm can be used for other games or programms, because there are no connection to StarCraft 2. This is just overlay with selected picture and nothing more. Look for latest updates in original author's topic.

Does this impact performance at all?

Does this trigger Warden in any way, shape, or form? If so then its probably not a good idea for others to use it.

If everyone is happy and okay with Xplit, why they must have problems with this overlay program? Everyone have ICQ, Messenger, Skype and many other programs at background

Shame you need to use fullscreen windowed as my computer lags like a bitch when I have that on.

Well, now you can use any overlays like pro-players using on their streams. You can also find some overlays at deviantart.com

I dunno, fps is a valuable thing for me 
Also, it would be awesome if someone could get the team overlays (like eg, quanitc, root) so we could see them while playing. That would be so sick, even though its kind of irrelevant.

I don't have FPS drops, you can easily test it for yourself and if you will not like it, just close and/or delete. It's your choice, but I like it and if you have nice overlay skins, so why not use it?

Oh yeah, its clearly a sick tool, and I'm going to try it in a bit, but my computer runs sc2 at around 30fps at the start of a game, gets down to 6-10 late game, so I usually ask.
I guess this program is different, since this runs outside of sc2, I assume that its like having a webpage or itunes open while playing. Stuff like the stronger team color mod is what I have in mind.

No, it can not be used for that.

Recolored zerg UI is that staff, like Stronger team color mod, that adds new textures into game MPQ-archives
You mean post other overlays? In that case, made this one a couple of weeks back.
Wow, this one looks pretty good But isnt it better to allow to see unit groups?
