The following represents 20+ hours of painstaking testing, retesting, and reretesting jungle mechanics. Everything you could want to know about how banking and scaling work for the small camps can be found in here, as well as a few other tidbits I discovered along the way.

  • Blue/Red camp scaling values.
  • Baron/dragon scaling.
  • Small camp health scaling.


Mechanics:
  • Respawn timers begin the moment the last creep in a camp is killed.
  • Small camp attributes, including gold and exp value, are determined upon spawning.
  • Buff camp attributes, including gold and exp value, are updated every minute at #:55 on the game clock.
  • Buff camps in combat will not increment their value until they leave combat, at which point they assume their full proper value and continue incrementing as normal.
  • Creeps do not start banking until 45 seconds have passed since spawn.
  • It takes 75 seconds for a creep to fully bank.
  • Banking is not enabled until 3:30 game time, at which point it begins with the delay timer.
  • Banking, including the delay timer, is paused by combat.
  • A full bank is worth 6 additional gold and 38 additional exp regardless of camp, and does not scale.

Small Camp Scaling:
  • Giant Wolf: 128xp+1.5xp/min, 44g+0.43g/min
  • Wolf: 10xp+0.215xp/min, 5g+0.055g/min
  • Wraith: 105xp+1.4xp/min, 33g+0.48g/min
  • Lesser Wraith: 11xp+0.10625xp/min, 4g+0.035g/min
  • Golem: 117xp+1.55xp/min, 40g+0.38g/min
  • Lesser Golem: 38xp+1.08xp/min, 15g+0.15g/min

Considering all the time I invested into it this is a very short post, but I figured I could reedit/clarify if/when I do more research or anything interesting appears through discussion.

I will note, to start things off, that the total gold scaling of the small camps is very close to 5g/min, while the gold scaling of lanes (assuming perfect last hitting) is around 10g/min. This means that while a jungler who farms will initially have approximately 72% of the gold income of someone who last hits perfectly, by 16:40 that will have dropped to 65%.

Is that a typo? From your data it appears much more than that. Did you mean 750 second perhaps?

Buff camp attributes, including gold and exp value, are updated every minute at #:55 on the game clock.


I think that is the most interesting find to me. Pay attention junglers: If the clock is approaching X:55 on a camp that isn't shiny with the full bank thing yet, you should wait until it hits this time to maximize your gain.

How does this work with the 750 second limit? If a camp spawns at the X:56 second mark, do you need to wait a full extra minute for it to refresh the bank? Or does the camp refresh once it hits a hard limit?

A full bank is worth 6 additional gold and 38 additional exp regardless of camp, and does not scale.


Could you clarify that? Your data seems at odds with that conclusion.

75 seconds is not a typo. 75 seconds is the time it takes for a camp to go from zero bank to full bank once the camp begins banking. You're being confused by the fact the no banking can begin before 3:30 game time, and also by the 45 second delay after that point/camp spawn.

Buff camps refer to the blue and red camps, not the small camps. #:55 has no special significance for the small camps whatsoever (and buff camps do not bank).

I'm not sure why you think my data is at odds. Banking and scaling are two separate mechanics. A fully banked creep is always worth 6g and 38exp more than whatever it was worth the moment it spawned.
