Here's the interview translation with Blizzcon winner, MVP.
How do you feel after getting the champion ring?
Blizzcon is the tournament I wanted to participate in the most ever since I became a SC2 gamer. It feels really good to win the tournament that I've wanted to be in the most.
Any effect from being the runner up of GSL code S?
To be honest, not much. I lost because I didn't play well. I thought that I should concentrate on upcoming games instead. I tried to not think of what happened before.
Even if you didn't win, yesterday's atmosphere was astounding
I thought it would've been better if I won because the cheer was so big. On the other hand, I felt envious of MMA.
I heard your condition yesterday was very bad
"condition was bad", "was unlucky", "was jetlagged", I think these phrases are just excuses. I didn't play well, while MMA did. That's all.
Today's atmosphere was as grand as yesterday's; did it make up for yesterday's loss?
Winning a tournament generally makes me feel happy, but the blizzcon schedule kept me very busy. I was tired from lack of sleep, so I suddenly felt the fatigue afterwards. Crowds' cheers were amazing, and I couldn't think of anything else.
You lost the winners' brackets and went down to the losers'.
Against Sen, I was confident that it was vs Zerg. I was thinking of playing against Nestea again.
You got to meet Nestea at the finals, but you had to win 4 sets.
I thought I would lose since I was behind one Bo3 against none other than Nestea. There's Blizzcon winner ring and runner up ring, so I was satisfied with the runner up's. On the other hand, this is Nestea's first foreign tournament, so it was very hard on him. I think I was able to beat him due to his fatigue. I was behind in both mind games and skills, but I was able to barely pull ahead with concentration and endurance.
Last set was a long game, and you were at a disadvantage.
I kept thinking how good Nestea is during the game. Any other zergs wouldn't be able to macro up after being shaken up so much by my harrass. I felt Nestea's greatness once again. Still, terrans have ghosts as the ultimate weapon, so I thought I'd be able to win by massing ghosts.
Do you not want to meet Nestea anymore?
We met too many times. It doesn't feel too good to meet him so many times when we're close teammates. Still, Nestea is the best zerg and I'm a decent terran, so it can't be helped.
What do you think is the reason for being so good against Nestea?
I don't know why. There's lot of pressure when we face off, so I think it affects Nestea a lot. Also, this tournament used ladder maps, which are very bad for zergs, so he became hasty. Being called Nestea's weakness makes me feel proud. It makes me feel like I became a world class player.
How will you prepare for the next season of code S when you're back in Korea?
I'll sleep for 24 hours once I'm back. I have to prepare for WCG before code S.
Don't you want a rematch against MMA?
Since I lost so badly this time, I want to meet him again soon. I don't know which tournament it will be, but I want to face him in non-Bo1.
This is your second foreign tournament win. Do you want to win MLG Providence as well?
I won both foreign tournaments that I've participated in. I think I can win the next MLG. I feel confident and greedy.
There has been various happenings on these 2 days. How is it looking back at them?
I probably played the most games among the players. It's a shame that I wasn't able to enjoy Blizzcon because of so many games. It's a shame that I couldn't try D3, HotS, or DotA. I want to try everything if I can come to the next Blizzcon.
Any last words?
I want to thank my parents who are cheering for me in Korea. I also want to thank Steelseries and Korea Gigabyte for helping our training atmosphere. Thanks to Blizzard Korea Esports team for making my travel comfortable. Special thanks to Lee Je Ho. I want to thank my girlfriend who's cheering for me in Korea. Please support my team Incredible Miracle and Quantic Gaming.
