Jaedong: I did not play my role as the Ace very well.
Q: The season has ended.
A: The biggest feeling right now is disappointment [T/N: alternatively, regret. I'm goin to use disappointment to describe this but it's really some awkward mix of the two]. Because it's not a season where I obtained a record i could be satisfied with, I feel a lot of responsibility as the team's ace. I keep getting reminded of the moments when I was really lacking. It hurts because I thought I tried really hard but the results weren't very good. I always dreamed of making it to the post season, and I was really happy because we won today, but on the other hand I felt really frustrated and cheated after hearing that STX won. I kept getting reminded of my past games. All of those losses that I could have done better is passing by me like in a kaleidoscope.
Q: Looking back at the season, which round was the most disappointing?
A: My record was very uneven starting round 5. I showed very shaky results until the beginning of round 6, and if I could have it my way I want to go back to then. If I had a wish, I would turn back the time and go back to then so i could do better.
Q: You achieved 200 wins in the Proleague and 100 wins against Zerg and was the first player to do so.
A: Even though I set a lot of individual records, I don't feel anything from it. It's an incredible record and many people compliment me on it around me, but because I keep getting haunted by the thought that there's still something left, I think that I still hvae a long way to go. I'll be setting even more impressive records in the future, so I can't be happy with the record now.
Q: You posted 49 wins this season. Are you satisfied?
A: 49 Wins is a very unclear result. I would have felt differently if it was 50 wins, but right now I feel as if "I only got 49 wins?". My goal this season was 60 wins, and realistically i thought I would be getting around 55 wins, but I wasn't able to reach that close. What's most important is that my win rate in the ace matches weren't very good. Even if it's just a win on paper, I think of ace matches differently and I think I wasn't able to play the role as the ace very well. That's why i'm even more disappointed and I feel strongly that I need to get even stronger. I want to grow a bit more during the off season and show everyone the fact that I've grown as a player.
Q: You have achieved a dramatic come back against Jangbi.
A: It was just a normal victory. It went very similarly to practice. There were moments where I was behind in the middle, but because I've came back from moments of danger during practice many times, I didn't even think I was behind and was able to pull the game and win. Recently, Protoss has been cooking up the Zergs in various ways so it's a bit difficult. Today I was shaken quite a bit by the harassment. Personally I've been struggling when playing against Protoss.
Q: There's the individual leagues left during the off season.
A: Because the only league left is the individual league, I'll do my best to prepare for it. But right now, Proleague still lingers in my mind. I want to think of individual leagues later. Because last season and this season both we all didn't make it at the final match, I can't help but think about it. You need to improve to make up for the fact that a year has passed, but because we failed to make it to the post season in the same way as last season, I'm just a bit more disappointed. I'm really disappointed in myself.
Q: Is there anything you want to say?
A: Because today was the last match, the fans really cheered for us. I'm really thankful to the fans who came all the way here despite the bad weather. People from the executive office came to the match today for the first time in some time. The team won but because we didn't make it to the play offs, I felt really sorry to them.
Now you can't see Jaedong in Proleague, but I will burn what's left of my spirit in the individual leagues, so it's okay for you to expect something great.
The Rest of Hwaseung Oz: We'll be improving more in the next season
Q: How does it feel now that you've finished your last matches for the season?
A: Dear: This season was the first time I've gotten to play, and I've even gotten some wins. I was able to play in the last game and I'm honored that I was able to win, but because we weren't able to make it to the post season, I think the biggest feeling right now is disappointment.
Killer: I'm really disappointed that we weren't able to go to the post season. But i'm a bit relieved that we were able to end the season on a positive note because we won the last match. If I look back now, I think there will be a lot of games that were disappointing. I want to reap better results to show that I have grown next season.
HiyA: Although we won, I'm quite hurt that we have failed to make it to the post season. It was a season where we can look back on and see many things. I want to prepare even harder for the next season and show that we have changed.
Q: You have definitely shown that you have grown this season.
A: Killer: To be honest I've surpassed my goal this season. I think if I set my goals higher for next season, I'll be able to get good results too. I think I've also learned how to win, so I think I'll be able to perform as a stable player. I think Hiya hyung needs to play a bit better (laugh). But my goal this season was 25 wins, so I'm thankful I was able to end this season with 33.
Q: Your record plummeted from 37 wins to 27 wins.
A: HiyA: Last season I was a stable player like Killer and my record was pretty good, so I thought I would do even better this season. But now that I'm getting older, my body isn't what it used to be. I keep getting reminded of when I was young (laugh). But I'm quite proud to see that Killer is doing well.
Q: Your record this season was 2 wins and 5 losses.
A: Dear: Because I was a rookie this season, I haven't even adjusted to broadcast games yet. Hwaseung Protoss is very lacking right now, and so I'll do my best to ditch that image by growing as a player.
Q: The Terran line fell apart. This could be one of the biggest reasons why Hwaseung didn't make the playoffs.
A: HiyA: I feel responsible. But other than myself and Lomo, we are also preparing a secret weapon amongst the other Terrans. I think we'll be able to reveal it next season. This season, the Protosses performed decently, and so next season the other Terrans will also do well so we can be a strong team without a weak race.
Killer: HiyA hyung always did consistently well in Proleague, I felt really bad seeing him get wrecked this season. I won't do anything HiyA hyung did this season and show results that are quite contrary to what HiyA hyung showed this season. I think HiyA hyung was a good example. It's really nice that I'm doing better than HiyA hyung because he stopped giving me as much chores as before (laugh)
Q: How are you planning on staying the off season?
A: Killer: I'll rest as much as I need to rest and prepare for the next season. I'm planning on supplementing what I lack during the off season. And since there's also the individual league, I want to try even harder than other teams.
HiyA: Although Proleague ended disappointingly, individual leagues are left. I want to resurrect through the individual leagues and continue the momentum into the next season.
Dear: Because our record this season was not as good as the other teams, shouldn't we be preparing even more for the next season?
Q: Is there anything else you want to say?
A: Killer: To be honest if HiyA hyung didn't go on a losing streak, I think we would have made it to the play offs so it's disappointing. I hope he does well again next season. I feel very sad when I see HiyA hyung (laugh).
Proleague ended for this season, and I want to tell the coaching staff and everyone on the team that I'm thankful for their efforts. I want to send my thanks to the fans who fervently cheered for us. And I want to thank the administrator of the Killer fancafe.
HiyA: I can't believe that Proleague ended like that. I want to thank the fans who cheered for us all the way through and thank my teammates and the executive office. I will do my best so that I could improve compared to this season next season, so I want to ask that the fans will continue to cheer for us.
Dear: I want to thank the coaching staff for trusting me and giving me many opportunities to play. I came from another team and although I feel I wasn't able to contribute much, but now I want to grow as a player who could make significant contributions to the team.
Here's my way of making up for the fact that Hwaseung isn't in the playoffs
