Jaedong: I did not play my role as the Ace very well.![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/Milkis/20110703_90413b98d70de522827.jpg)
Q: The season has ended. A: The biggest feeling right now is disappointment [T/N: alternatively, regret. I'm goin to use disappointment to describe this but it's really some awkward mix of the two]. Because it's not a season where I obtained a record i could be satisfied with, I feel a lot of responsibility as the team's ace. I keep getting reminded of the moments when I was really lacking. It hurts because I thought I tried really hard but the results weren't very good. I always dreamed of making it to the post season, and I was really happy because we won today, but on the other hand I felt really frustrated and cheated after hearing that STX won. I kept getting reminded of my past games. All of those losses that I could have done better is passing by me like in a kaleidoscope.
Q: Looking back at the season, which round was the most disappointing? A: My record was very uneven starting round 5. I showed very shaky results until the beginning of round 6, and if I could have it my way I want to go back to then. If I had a wish, I would turn back the time and go back to then so i could do better.
Q: You achieved 200 wins in the Proleague and 100 wins against Zerg and was the first player to do so. A: Even though I set a lot of individual records, I don't feel anything from it. It's an incredible record and many people compliment me on it around me, but because I keep getting haunted by the thought that there's still something left, I think that I still hvae a long way to go. I'll be setting even more impressive records in the future, so I can't be happy with the record now.
Q: You posted 49 wins this season. Are you satisfied? A: 49 Wins is a very unclear result. I would have felt differently if it was 50 wins, but right now I feel as if "I only got 49 wins?". My goal this season was 60 wins, and realistically i thought I would be getting around 55 wins, but I wasn't able to reach that close. What's most important is that my win rate in the ace matches weren't very good. Even if it's just a win on paper, I think of ace matches differently and I think I wasn't able to play the role as the ace very well. That's why i'm even more disappointed and I feel strongly that I need to get even stronger. I want to grow a bit more during the off season and show everyone the fact that I've grown as a player.
Q: You have achieved a dramatic come back against Jangbi. A: It was just a normal victory. It went very similarly to practice. There were moments where I was behind in the middle, but because I've came back from moments of danger during practice many times, I didn't even think I was behind and was able to pull the game and win. Recently, Protoss has been cooking up the Zergs in various ways so it's a bit difficult. Today I was shaken quite a bit by the harassment. Personally I've been struggling when playing against Protoss.
Q: There's the individual leagues left during the off season. A: Because the only league left is the individual league, I'll do my best to prepare for it. But right now, Proleague still lingers in my mind. I want to think of individual leagues later. Because last season and this season both we all didn't make it at the final match, I can't help but think about it. You need to improve to make up for the fact that a year has passed, but because we failed to make it to the post season in the same way as last season, I'm just a bit more disappointed. I'm really disappointed in myself.
Q: Is there anything you want to say? A: Because today was the last match, the fans really cheered for us. I'm really thankful to the fans who came all the way here despite the bad weather. People from the executive office came to the match today for the first time in some time. The team won but because we didn't make it to the play offs, I felt really sorry to them.
Now you can't see Jaedong in Proleague, but I will burn what's left of my spirit in the individual leagues, so it's okay for you to expect something great.
The Rest of Hwaseung Oz: We'll be improving more in the next season![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/Milkis/20110703_4824ad6f00568f9834d.jpg)
Q: How does it feel now that you've finished your last matches for the season? A: Dear: This season was the first time I've gotten to play, and I've even gotten some wins. I was able to play in the last game and I'm honored that I was able to win, but because we weren't able to make it to the post season, I think the biggest feeling right now is disappointment. Killer: I'm really disappointed that we weren't able to go to the post season. But i'm a bit relieved that we were able to end the season on a positive note because we won the last match. If I look back now, I think there will be a lot of games that were disappointing. I want to reap better results to show that I have grown next season. HiyA: Although we won, I'm quite hurt that we have failed to make it to the post season. It was a season where we can look back on and see many things. I want to prepare even harder for the next season and show that we have changed.
Q: You have definitely shown that you have grown this season. A: Killer: To be honest I've surpassed my goal this season. I think if I set my goals higher for next season, I'll be able to get good results too. I think I've also learned how to win, so I think I'll be able to perform as a stable player. I think Hiya hyung needs to play a bit better (laugh). But my goal this season was 25 wins, so I'm thankful I was able to end this season with 33.
Q: Your record plummeted from 37 wins to 27 wins. A: HiyA: Last season I was a stable player like Killer and my record was pretty good, so I thought I would do even better this season. But now that I'm getting older, my body isn't what it used to be. I keep getting reminded of when I was young (laugh). But I'm quite proud to see that Killer is doing well.
Q: Your record this season was 2 wins and 5 losses. A: Dear: Because I was a rookie this season, I haven't even adjusted to broadcast games yet. Hwaseung Protoss is very lacking right now, and so I'll do my best to ditch that image by growing as a player.
Q: The Terran line fell apart. This could be one of the biggest reasons why Hwaseung didn't make the playoffs. A: HiyA: I feel responsible. But other than myself and Lomo, we are also preparing a secret weapon amongst the other Terrans. I think we'll be able to reveal it next season. This season, the Protosses performed decently, and so next season the other Terrans will also do well so we can be a strong team without a weak race. Killer: HiyA hyung always did consistently well in Proleague, I felt really bad seeing him get wrecked this season. I won't do anything HiyA hyung did this season and show results that are quite contrary to what HiyA hyung showed this season. I think HiyA hyung was a good example. It's really nice that I'm doing better than HiyA hyung because he stopped giving me as much chores as before (laugh)
Q: How are you planning on staying the off season? A: Killer: I'll rest as much as I need to rest and prepare for the next season. I'm planning on supplementing what I lack during the off season. And since there's also the individual league, I want to try even harder than other teams. HiyA: Although Proleague ended disappointingly, individual leagues are left. I want to resurrect through the individual leagues and continue the momentum into the next season. Dear: Because our record this season was not as good as the other teams, shouldn't we be preparing even more for the next season?
Q: Is there anything else you want to say? A: Killer: To be honest if HiyA hyung didn't go on a losing streak, I think we would have made it to the play offs so it's disappointing. I hope he does well again next season. I feel very sad when I see HiyA hyung (laugh). Proleague ended for this season, and I want to tell the coaching staff and everyone on the team that I'm thankful for their efforts. I want to send my thanks to the fans who fervently cheered for us. And I want to thank the administrator of the Killer fancafe. HiyA: I can't believe that Proleague ended like that. I want to thank the fans who cheered for us all the way through and thank my teammates and the executive office. I will do my best so that I could improve compared to this season next season, so I want to ask that the fans will continue to cheer for us. Dear: I want to thank the coaching staff for trusting me and giving me many opportunities to play. I came from another team and although I feel I wasn't able to contribute much, but now I want to grow as a player who could make significant contributions to the team.
Here's my way of making up for the fact that Hwaseung isn't in the playoffs

Wow that was fast, thanks for the translation! Also, cheer up Jaedong! ^_^

Crazy fast translation! Thanks! It's always great to see how thirsty JD is to continue producing results and how much it really means to him to be the best. He's still got plenty of wins and titles left in him

There used to be a time where this was pretty standard :p
Translating the rest of the interview atm.

Please cheer up JD and destroy in SLs D:
It's not your fault! I think u and Killer were the only players who had a positive win/loss ratio so don't be too hard on yourself
|
Sweet mother of..... That was one quick translation. Thank you! Oh JD
|
Perhaps he can use the time he gets without PL to worry, and storms back the next season! JD fighting!!!

Killer busting Hiya's balls all throughout, hahaha. Poor Magikarp
|
Thanks for the interviews, they'll help make the pain go away
|
What the...killer semi-blaming hiya :o
|
Milkis you are the best, did you know that?<3
|
Killer was healrious, It's Hiya's fault. Hiya kept losing, I have a better record than Hiya, did I mention Hiya lost.
|
1 game away (was it two? correct me if i' m wrong). Makes me think back to the match where stork used the build refined for two years to beat jaedong, the match where jaedong lost 9pool to 12 hatch to zero, the ace match on benzene against flash in the winners league, even that loss to S2 in the closing stages of the winners league. Well, a small consistency improvement and OZ makes the playoffs next year.
|
|
Wow, Jaedong is hard on himself.
|
Wtf fast translation ftw! Thanks!
"Now you can't see Jaedong in Proleague, but I will burn what's left of my spirit in the individual leagues, so it's okay for you to expect something great."
Cant wait!

OMG <3 you Milkis, sorry for being so dumb in IRC :D
I wonder where they got those Terrans, must be the people JD practiced with for preparing his games vs Flash.
|
The last picture looks funny. Two nerdy-looking guys and then Killer.
|
lol Killer iS flaming HiyA^^.
|
Poor Oz. Always feels wrong to not have JD in the playoffs.
|
omg milkis ty O.O incredible speed
|
I just can't stand Jaedong's current hair colour, he can do so much better!
Thank you for the translation.

are killer and jaedong brothers? They look so much alike

They don't count playoff games (so WL playoff games don't count)
|
Sad for Oz. Jaedong has such a fierce winner's mentality but in moments like this it'll hurt quite a bit, especially if he remembers his ace match losses (when one single mistake retroactively means your team missing the playoffs).
Makes for exciting Starcraft though (Jaedong v Jangbi was amazing).

Hey i saw my ID in the interview!
hopefully Hiya and Killer could start unloading jaedong's burden in Oz..
|
Hiya look so old in that pic

haha the wrinkles and the white hair..

so what's up with killer constantly talking about hiya? Was it in a joking way? Seemed like he was focusing on how bad hiya did a little too often
|
Hiya did so bad this season... yet still knocks JD out of an OSL group a while back. What a douche!
|
Thx for translation!
Just found 1 typo in 3rd question u got "I think that I still hvae a long way to go."

One game. If they had won one more game in the regular season(against anyone), they would be #6 right now.
Personally, I don't even think this falls upon Jaedong or Hiya. Oz has no reason not to have more youngsters. You put any one of Samsung's kids on that team(Reality, Grape, Brave, or perhaps even Turn), and that's a playoff team. Can't win in the PL if you can't keep the pipeline of new talent flowing.

='( <3 Milkis. I shall print this out and wipe my tears with it.

Yeah i was asking myself the same thing : "whotf HiyA is talking about ?" their Terrans are just rookies with no televised matchs, and overall none of them shined during the Dream League. Maybe they will aquire a strong terran (hey forGG, come back ;( ) but i really doubt that considering Oz isn't the wealthiest team around.
Or he's just trolling :D
|
Suddenly this result (where Jaedong lost to STX Soul in the ace game) really hurts.

If Oz can get another good T and develop 2 out of shy, sky and dear, then they should be pretty impressive next year. I think all 3 P rookies have shown very good promise, just need to iron out some kinks and get more experience. Anytime seems to be behind it.
And stop playing fucking PerfectHair (unless the plan is to DT rush, that's all he's good for).
Oh well, it was a decent season. Better than last, that's for sure.
|
It's depressing knowing that just one game would have all the difference.
|
|
|
Damn, it sucks that STX won. If Khan had to lose to Oz, i wanted Oz to make the playoffs at least
|
I'm really bummed that Oz wont be in the playoffs. I really do hope they can get some rookie terrans ready for next year. Right now when it makes good sense to send out two terrans they have hiya and ... lomo. Killer was right when he ripped on Hiya. Oz only needs two consistent players to baxk up jaedomg. If they could pick up two Roro clones they would be set.
Also Sexy was in fou, the same clan as lomo and hiya so my bets are on him.
|
Sad but understandable. His constant injuries probably weren't helping
|
Whaaaaaat?
Ugh, that's terrible news...
|
I am sad because Oz didn't make the playoffs, but knowing Oz they wouldn't have made far anyways.
|
BackHo :'-(
Still remember how he beat Stork and then had to forfeit his ro8 match against Jangbi in Classic Season 2 due to an operation. Also saw the documentary about him over a year ago. That poor guy had no luck =(

Am I the only person that didn't know what a kaleidoscope is? Even after image googling it I'm still like: "wtf?".
|
Heh. They aren't popular in the Netherlands? It's basically a tube that looks like a telescopes', except instead of using the mirrors to allow the viewer to see objects at a distance, it instead causes the viewer to see patterns caused by the light bouncing off of the mirrors and the colorful objects inside the tube. Some kaleidoscopes let you twist them and change the pattern.
They're can be pretty cool.

Wow, HIya absolutely wrecked by his teammates in that interview :\ Honestly it's just as much JD's fault as his IMO...

you forget the part where he went like 2-11 or something ridiculous in round 2 (i just remember he only won 2; he lost every other game).
|
Wtf that doesn't look like Hiya at all O.o
Thanks Milkis <3

Wow, Jaedong havin a serious man talk while the rest of oz awaits ... he had important thing to say

Killer is such a troll lol
|
Wow why is Jaedong so god damn negative. All he does is complain about how disappointed he is in himself. The guy is on a damn 9 win streak, he should be proud of himself.

When his competitors (Bisu and Flash) were getting 65 - 15 (81.25%) and 52 - 16 (76.47%) records, it isn't surprising that he's disappointed with his 51 - 23 (68.91%).
I mean, he didn't do badly by any means, but he definitely could've done better.
|
Jaedong... why you so cocky? Normal victory yet you have to fight a comeback..

Killer and HiYa the new SK and Zero?
Sad not to see JD in the playoffs, but honestly Oz don't seem good enough
