Welcome to Aperture Laboratories
The highly anticipated sequel to 2007's Game of the Year, Portal 2 is a hilariously mind-bending adventure that challenges you to use wits over weaponry in a funhouse of diabolical science.
Using a highly experimental portal device, you’ll once again face off against a lethally inventive, power-mad A.I. named GLaDOS. And this time you won’t be alone. Meet an expanded cast of characters as you think your way through dangerous, never-before-seen areas of Aperture Laboratories.
Break the laws of spatial physics in ways you never thought possible, with a wider variety of portal puzzles and an expansive story that spans a single player and co-operative game mode.

downloading right now
also looking for a fun virtual friend for coop mode! having a mic and being german would be good, but both not a must.

I've been playing it and so far it's the same as Portal 1 with better graphics. I'm on TC04. Does anyone know when it branches off?
|
I can't wait to get this in 6 months when the price drops. One of the best things about the original was that it was a GREAT deal, coupled with HL2 ep2 and Team Fortress 2 for the same price.
I have no doubt Portal 2 is more expansive than the original, but it's just not worth the price for me at the moment
Would be nice to get some info on game length, replayability, etc. Somebody wanna give their opinions?

Wasn't hugely impressed by Portal. Hope when I get around to Portal 2 it'll be everything Portal should have been.
Incidentally, can anyone give an indication as to how long the 'tutorial' sections of the game are?
|
5 minutes remaining on the download :DDDD gogogogogo
I can say that I'm quite ready to play this game all day today.

Add me on to the list of people who were DL'ing it when they went to work and are getting nothing done at work as they feverishly contemplate the awesomeness awaiting them.
Also, there were rumors of HL:3/Episode 3 announcements, but I haven't heard anything more about it.....anyone heard anything?

I was really surprised to hear Stephen Merchant's voice. Threw me off a little at the start but imo it worked great after I got used to it. Played about 5h of the single player so far, most of it is excellent. Only thing I didn't like is the way they progressed the story with just more numbered chambers, but overall really good.
Can't wait to try the coop mode later.
|
Finished Coop in about 5 hours and doing the SP right now, although i gotta leave for class real soon :{ Coop has no story line, but the puzzles are amazing.
|
i love it so far. the story got very interesting. not finish yet but the gels makes you so differently than the first one
|
Just finished the single player... annnnnd
omg its amazing!
I really recommend anyone who hasn't brought it yet - go buy it now.
Took me about 8 hours so its probably 3ish times the size of the first one + coop which ill be trying tonight.

I kinda want to get this game but it seems like it's lacking depth. Co-op only seems fun if you're playing with friends.

So im a little ways into chapter 4. anyone else think that glados isn't as funny as before?

She's fine. Nothing is going to be like the first time man. Don't let nostalgia ruin the humor of this game, which I still think is quite good.

Everything about Portal 2 just screams perfection.
I was entertained from the start till the end by both the amazing gameplay and terrific storytelling Right from the beginning I was sucked into the game. It is just amazing how Stephen Merchant voiced the blue ball-thingy. I seriously can't remember last time a videogame has left such an impression on me.

Been rather busy all day, so I haven't had a chance to play yet. Had a quick run through the first Portal last night as a warm up and I do expect great things of the sequel.
|
I ran through the first three sets of chambers with my friend in co-op last night until 0300 . I'm excited to finish it off and start the single player!!
|
I finished the game about an hour ago. Played it for 7 hours straight and must say I was pleasantly surprised by the length of the game and how the game always kept me on my toes.
Lots and lots of character development and surprises! Enjoy!
