Does anyone else think you should have the same 5-qualifying-rounds every time you test out a new race?
I'm by no means a good player. I just hit diamond as terran and wanted to explore the other races a little bit more, but the only option I have right now is either playing blind at a diamond level with a new race (whch will get me crushed) or playing uncoordinated custom games against people from all skill levels.
If we can't smurf at all, this option should atleast exist, imo.

I do find it kind of weird that it doesn't separate your T,P,Z,R stats. It makes a lot more sense. I'd be playing a lot of protoss and zerg right now if it weren't tied to my 1v1 rating.
|
Agreed, I feel that Blizzard should put back the old accounts system except they are all connected to your main account if that makes any sense.
|
With the way the matchmaker works you'll get crushed a minimal number of times. It gives you easier and easier opponents the longer a losing streak goes on, so you'll find your new level quite quickly.
|
It's a statistic. Your 1v1 rating should really not make you choose to only play 1 race. Just play and enjoy.
|
I think they should just allow you to leave a division if you don't want to be in it any more allowing you to try to qualify maybe once every week or so.
|
yeah i got this problem, is say just suck it up and learn quick haha but its a tricky thing some people would love diff stats for each race while others wana have em all combine still

its just more that i think he means that on diamant he have just NO chance and NO fun play other then his mainrace so he cant play other race for fun just vs underbronze customgames enemys

I have suggested this several times about people who wanted to play 1v1's with off race implementing seperate ratings for each race wouldnt be very hard.

Yeah, thats not really the problem. If he plays twice as many games mainrace as offrace, his games offrace will be way too hard and his mainrace will be way too easy. Neither will be very fun.

First of all, not everyone can just enjoy and play as you would. It's different for everyone and this change actually makes sense because it shows you your win% with each race and if implemented well, your XvX matchup % which is not only bragging rights if you care but actually shows you how well you're doing in certain matchups.
Second of all, if a person qualifies for diamond but is atrocious at the other races, it would let them ease into different races instead of intentionally losing a bunch of games that are not even competitive in order to go lower.
|
If this was possible, I would let my friends play on my account on an off race if they didn't want to pay for the game.
I think this is the reason why blizzard doesn't want to implement it.

Same system as it was in Wc3 Separate stats with win/loss/% for each race+random
It works just fine. I don't care if I have 20-60 with Terran or whatsoever and 100-10 with Zerg People would mainly just look your main race stats anyway for your "skill"
But what comes for separate ladders for each race, I don't like it :/ It may cost your ladder ranking, but whatever.. :&
So. Stats for each race should be separated, nothing else Though I like the idea of separate 1v1 2v2 3v3 etc stats
|
I find it a bit weird. If I play Terran and stick with Terran to hit Diamond and then decide I want to try Zerg I'm forced to not ladder because clearly I wouldn't be a Diamond level Zerg having never played the race before.
|
It is actually better playing blind at the Platinum and Diamond level with a new race. If you're playing Bronze or even Gold players, chances are you'll wreck them just because you have superior mechanics, like keeping your money down. In lower Diamond, you'll be able to practice well, and lose because you were beaten, not win because your opponent is weak.

Then you get abusers who purposely go 0-100 games with their worst race, to lower their rating, and go 100-0 with their best race bashing newbs.
Its fine how it is, if you want to learn a new race, thats what the 8 hour timecard things are for, otherwise just suck it up and play. I played 30 terran solo games, then 10 random, then now 50+ toss.. who cares.

Knowing when the attacks come (from competent people), and getting to try out countering decent unit compositions is pretty valuable. Still got absolutely stomped at first but you learn plenty.

Not sure how newer players would take it if they would constantly get stomped by more experienced players. Don't try to claim people wouldn't do that because you know it would happen and in quite large numbers.
Why not play with friends if you want to try out a different race and not ruin your ratings/be pitted against people who know their race and you don't.

Completely agree that you should have separate statistics depending on what race you play.
