After reading the latest interview with Frank Pearce (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=128014) I was astonished at the tactless ways of dealing with the wishes of the community (such as chat channels and cross region play).
I am here to explain why i like chat channels and what the lack of unique names have to do with fun.
Chat channels are an easy way of getting in touch with other players, you don't need to know their e-mail adresses, hidden identifiers(in the past) or be facebook friends with them. Especially for online tournaments this is an awesome way of being able to play your matches without having to add a billion players a week to your "friends list" and removing them shortly after your match is over.
Now previously on most online tournament sites you had to give out your "secret" identifier so that people could contact you ingame. After blizzard decided to remove the identifiers you are now obligated to either quit these tournaments or give out your email adress, the one linked to the account you're playing on, to random internet strangers. On top of that, there are no unique nicknames so that you could theoretically play Bisu or Jaedong 5 times in a row.
I want to suggest people who are fed up with the lack of positive response blizzard has shown to the community on these subjects to adopt one single nickname come next beta reset: "ESPORTS".

Things that BNET2.0 needs to have for fullfilling its ESPORTS oriented design filosophy:
1. private chat rooms.
2. cross server option
3. add friends via ID input / search / Unique IDs
4. password protected game
5. Lan enabled after authenticate through b.net
6. rep watching with other players
7. HL-counterstrike style live Broadcast, allowing thousands of people watching the game via sc2 as if they are an obs, at no lag expense to the players. (3rd party simply broadcast action input, faster than video stream also)
8.Tournament bracket feature, allow creator to easily update/others to view the bracket.
9. If one player drops, b.net auto saves game at that point so the players can recreate/play. like sc1.
(10. If host is afk in custom games, there is a "vote new host" feature)
