It's not gonna happen zerg players are gonna complain any anti-zerg map You mock but the game has reached to a point that zerg has obvious clear advantage unless you are blind like a bat Since there wont be a balance patch ever. The only logical move is to do a non-zerg favored maps permanently. I mean the maps already designed with one entrance (even with the optional two entrance there is a block) which is just to counter zerg. Might move further with the balance against zerg in permanent map designs That or welcome zergs winning all tournament and eventually just loss of interest in the game if all that wins are zerg There is a large gap between 'playing perfect to keep vessels alive' and 'losing a group to plague and 1 muta because Rush didnt look at his vessels for 20 seconds'.... It's the equivalent of losing two group of mutas idling and parking in the middle while a group of marines kill all of them. It is rather incredible that Rush was still in the game for so long despite so many massive fuck ups. Rush played horribly especially in game 7 lmao whatever you concocted in your mind about his play is simply cope. Honestly it is fucking embarassing that the best terran last season was a dude with a fucked up arm, who still got into the finals, while destroying the second best terran 4-0. What does it say about terrans? Abusing tesagi for decades destroyed your ability to play the game at all.

I really thought he was cooked in game 7, but he managed to hit the clutch plague + muta play. I was thinking the rush from Rush wasn't that impactful but boy was I wrong... SK was struggling so much but managed an insane comeback. Rush tried his best to get early game advantages and it almost worked the whole way, crazy. After seeing Odyssey in the finals I don't think I want to see it again. Tastosis was right on their analysis, Terran can tech up to vessel while powering M&M which seems kinda OP since Zerg is time gated. Of course if SK knew about the valk build he would have gotten a couple scourges and the game would have been over probably but he made 9 mutas and that was enough to lose the game that time. Can't wait for next year and "more events" whatever that means!

I guess we can still agree that is just a personal Starcast TV choice and not players preference ? If that was the case we will see the maps you are mentioning to be played on standard spons or chinese spons right ?. Maps from ASL18 to ASL20 are pretty favored by the streamers. Maps like Radeon, Deja Vu, Dominator, KICK BACK, Eclipse, Metropolis and Pole Star are still regularly chosen and mixed in with the current map pool when played in StarcastTV Korea Bo7 sets today. On another note, Blitz Y & Jane Doe & is also still being chosen for TvP matches. Same with Uldolmok (Roaring Currents/Screaming Sea) for PvZ matches. But i highly doubt Starcast is making those progamers to play in maps that are not part of the current ASL MP. And this is not bashing starcast or anything. Im just pointing that your post and players map picking preference is not really it. It's okay, we'll agree to disagree. Until we actually see Cruiser himself or the streamers speak up then we'll never have a concrete idea. Just so you know though, you and TMNT are kinda alleging him of making fake contents. We all know their cultures don't take kindly to that if it turns out to be false. It is serious, which is why I have to give him the benefit of the doubts.

At one stage he was up by something like 80 supply I think but SK was in a good spot with his 4 gas and defences set up. Once the ultra production kicked in the game was always going to turn. I think if perhaps Rush wen't BCs instead of tanks it would've helped him attack the expos more effectively and stretched SK gas a bit given the need to invest in scourges more. But who knows? Easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. He needed to press his supply advantage before ultra production kicked in and wasn't able to do so. Once SK's eco kicked in, the ultra/ling/def is such a hard counter to bio Terran that it was always going to be tough for Rush to win the game. When could he have made that transition though, without the tanks to help followup the the initial pressure on Soulkey I think the extra gap it takes to build up enough BC's lets Soulkey get an extra gas and the issue of what to do about plagues landing on a flock of vessels now has the added worry of it landing on a stack of 3-4 BC's. I really think there was just a handful of times where the Dropships were sitting idle where Rush really needed to be taking advantage of his spike in supply vs Soulkey but I'm also a big ol' scrub so who the fuck knows and as you said Monday morning quarterbacking is fun lol.

Rush is good, it was a great performance but I don't think its insulting to him to lowkey expect a SK win in a Bo7 vs any terran. This is his bread and butter, I don't think there's a player we've ever seen as laid back / mentally stable going into game 7's as Soulkey. If you look at his runs across the last 2.5 years his record in game 5's and 7's is unreal even more so then his already incredible WR's would lead you to expect.

I don't think I evem remember when Terran or Protoss win against Zerg when it comes to late-game. It is to a point I wonder if it after not breaking the top left base on Game 7 Rush should have saved his own wrists and GG'ed. Do anyone have a video where Zerg loses after Ultras on TvZ? I think I saw ONE on KCM.

But generally, yeah, if Z gets to 4 gases and hive tech, they can be at half the supply of T and they're probably not losing, defilers are pretty good. On the other hand, Rush made some mistakes in that last game, he didn't snipe a hatch with low hp with the first drop, the second drop did nothing, he had idle units while his expansions were being attacked, the vessels etc. Light's army composition was also better than Rush's. So it's not impossible. Soulkey did play better.

But it seemed like Rush had done some excellent preparation for this set. He had some great builds and worked really really well. Great play. His 3 port didn't quite work out though. Overall I felt like the openings themselves had a bit to big of an impact on the series overall, felt like Rush won a few games on that alone. As did Soulkey. It was a good series with Soulkey getting the deserving win, I think he played and adapted to situations better. But in some way I wanted more from this series. Or was I just to tired to appreciate it? ![]()

Because zerg needs to play a perfect game to win: stop rushes, stay lean to drone up, dont die to cheese (ok everyone has to do it), dont die to drops, dont get starved On October 20 2026 10:14 goody153 wrote: As expected soulkey wins but zerg has the biggest race advantage anyways Crazy how the terran has to play perfectly keeping the vessels alive and irradiating nonstop to get the value to bring down the zerg to have a chance to win vs lategame zerg while all zerg has to do is one plague then one mistake from terran suddenly the tables turned This is so untrue. Terran has multiple advantages in TvZ: -the good old - "bunker rush, to CC if bunker rush fails" - yes, it is "bad" for terran, but as we clearly seen in game 7 not the reason that they lose. Meanwhile zerg can just die to the bunker rush -terran can push scvs all the time, this is part of the game, but something that only nowadays mentioned: zerg is always lean / starting, has to survive to be able to drone up. Zerg can die droning up Meanwhile terran does not "die in their base" (unless some 2 hat muta) -terran can just throw shit after shit hoping it works: dropships, eraser - zerg needs to play PERFECT defense against dropship play, if you dont stop that single dropship you die -zerg needs to have perfect muta micro, you fly them wrong, they all die. meanwhile terran's strategy is to send a suicide squat and sit in middle of the map. Modern terrans havent invented yet the idea that they can sacrifice half of it and just retreat to the base to have a bigger ball -"vessels are easy to lose by terran" wtf? it's a free kill every minute or so, one of the most busted units in the game, because it's basically a free defiler / ultralisk every minute Terran can make so many mistakes in a game: failed 8 rax, failed army movement, lose units to bad attacks and can still recoup the game with 1 good drop. Terran loses when he runs out of minerals. Meanwhile zerg has to play a perfect game to win. About protoss I dont talk, I think the race somehow always took worse players - yea, I get complains about PvZ, but when you watch some random PvT the unit movement on maps is often the reason why protoss lose and it seems they are not even seeing it.

3Port was fun and you just think the whole time- what would Leta do. Interesting attendance. Tbh this year was rather weak. Hopefully little more energy, tighter play and better ASLs in 2027. Edit what is this thread. A near perfect game from Rush wouldn’t be losing that huge cloud of vessels he accumulated so sloppily. Also what are these bizarre comments about PvZ. Name me one top Zerg we don’t ‘rave’ at their ability to win against limited scouting and overly strong comps.
