Great series. In the end SoulKey just looked more complete as a player.
Even though he eventually lost in game7, I think Rush gave it away in game 4 and 5 when he had a 2-1 lead. In game 4 on Octagon he kind of thoughtlessly moved his M&M out into the open into SoulKeys muta-ling. He had scanned a lot, seen no hive-tech or third yet. Risky movement but great game-sense on SoulKey with the follow-up aggression. And maybe Rush did a lot of practice for the surprise 3-port-build on Aiolos in game 5, but SoulKey just shut it down instantly and put the pressure on Rush. Maybe he revealed it too early?
Game7, bunker-rush again... turned out into Rush's favor though, but then he just couldn't use his window of opportunity to put enough pressure on SoulKey, who handled it with all his experience. He was so close though in game 7, and very close overall, shame for Rush.

I agree. I think there were like 2-3 moments before SK got ultras out that Rush had the opening to kill SK but missed it. And then after losing all those vessels for free he never got that chance again. Rush's late game just isn't as strong as someone like Flash or Light. He's SO GOOD at 2-base timing attacks vs Z before defilers pop out, but once he the zerg secures that 3rd he doesnt have the best decision making.
Kind of boring having yet another Z champ and seeing SK just destroy everyone all the time (when was the last time this guy lost a Bo5 or Bo7 in the ASL???) but his decision making and game knowledge is just so good that he makes every MU look totally broken. WP

damn what a series, THATS BW BABY

Rush made terran look balanced in game 7

Just watched the VOD, great games and great finals! Many thanks to the English casters, you did a great job this season!

Rush let's his bunker die off of 8rax, a devastating blunder, and yet still gets into a dominant winning position where his decision making left him completely. That's why it's only a matter of time before Terran dethrones Zerg.

With this terran lineup I doubt it. Soma and SK are 2 tiers ahead of any terran. Maybe Fantasy will get back in shape but until then...
Rush played dogshit and still 3-4, so maybe if we have a terran that is not braindead or has a broken arm like last season...

Light is the only terran that comes close to soma/soulkey's level historically and he seems to be past it.
Flash last season looked poised to win. Rush should have won this game 7.
I just don't know, something always happens where Zerg ends up winning games they'd lose if it was played online with low stakes.

In the ending interview, the sponsor from Google Play indicated that fans can expect more in the next year, but didn’t specify. Does anyone know if he’s referring to more seasons in a year, better offline venues, higher prize pool, or something else?

okay i KNOW that the match up is balanced, but 100 supply darkswarm zerg holding against 180 supply of late game terran just feels insane to me.

Great series, was a bit worried it would be very one-sided but ended up much closer than expected. Rush was so close too taking the final game damn I feel bad for him. I guess Soulkey was just the better player and came ahead in the end. Next season has me excited for Fantasy coming back. Really hoping he can get into shape quickly and end the zerg era of dominance.

Rush played rather disappointing throughout the full series.. All games he lost I felt he hardly had a chance to win. For all games he won it seemed they were decided in early game already, but Rush then continued to give SK way too much breathing room to try and make a comeback. Game 7 he got into such a great position but failed to capitalize.
A close series in numbers, but SK definitely seemed to be the deserved winner
